When filling in address to Send e-mail, Thunderbird locks up.
Running Windows 8 and just started using Thunderbird. I am able to receive e-mail, but when trying to compose a message Thunderbird locks up after enter a few letters in the address box. Suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestions. Tried them, including the additional ones at the end of the referenced article, to no avail. The problem still exists, i.e., locking up completely when trying to type in an e-mail address.
The following is the error message generated: "A script on this page may be busy, . . . . Script resource //gre/components/msAbAutoCompleteSearchjs140."
Backup notes: 1. the e-mail is through JustHost.com, with the account setup confirmed in the configuration windows. 2. Global Search/Indexing is disabled.
Further suggestions appreciated.
Might be global search that is slowing things. I disabled it on Thunderbird because it was slow as molasses. You could try going into Options > Advanced > General and uncheck "Enable Global Search and Indexer". If that does not help, you can always check it again.
