What happened to the 'Reply' feature for e-mail messages? How does one do that now?

The new Firefox is not user friendly. The old one had all options for action listed for easy access. Now one must hit a drop-down menu for selection which adds extra steps to accomplishing desired actions. Also there is no place that allows "Reply" feature for messages. Why was that eliminated? Why do software experts think they are making things easier when all they do is complicate usage for common folk?

Thank you. That was the answer to the problem. Why does it have to be so secretly imbedded so novices have to go through this process to get assistance on carrying out tasks? I know this isn't your problem that the site does it, but I am glad you were able to assist me and solve the problem. Thanks again for your expertise.

Firefox does not include its own email feature, so perhaps you are referring to a change in your email website? There have been some major changes at Hotmail (Outlook.com), Gmail, and Yahoo. If you are using one of those, could you describe where you see the change, or where you see the option missing? The volunteers here might be able to suggest an easier way to work with the site if they have an account there.

You are right. Both Yahoo! and Hotmail changed their format and since then there is no "Reply" action to select when one has an e-mail message with that desired result. How does one know whether it is the browser or the Internet supplier to whom one must question? I am a novice and it is very frustrating to have to figure out what software and programming 'experts' are trying to prove when they change programs thinking they are making it easier to manuever and use when the customer has become well acquainted with the system.

Hi lyontale, can you find the reply buttons shown in my screenshots?

Sometimes you can't tell whether a site made a change or whether Firefox is not rendering the site the way it was designed. That's one thing the volunteers here try to do, sort that out.

By the way, regarding your original post, did you also want to change from the compact menu (orange Firefox button) to the classic menu bar? You can do that in either of the following ways:

  • right-click a blank area of the tab bar > click Menu Bar
  • tap the Alt key to display the menu bar temporarily > View > Toolbars > Menu Bar

Was able to obtain "Reply" and "Forward" tasks for Yahoo! but have not been able to find out how to "Forward" within Hotmail. Would appreciate any assistance with that. Thank you for your input.

Oops, please ignore that last post. See the little triangle (perhaps more like a letter v) next to the word Reply? If you click the triangle, you should get the Reply All and Forward actions.

For future reference, the printable view is on the ... menu at the far right end of the bar.

No, I tried that avenue and it did nothing toward my problem. But thanks anyway.
