I cannot log in to Firefox. I think it is because I have changed email accounts sense opening the account. How do I reset both email address and password?

I have changed email accounts and forgotten my password. I cannot request a new password because you will send the email to my old address. Do I have to create a new account and if so will it affect any of my present Firefox settings?
