Security certificate not recognised
When trying to log onto PlayStation Network via http://uk.playstation.com/ with the sign-in button in the top right, it always fails through Firefox. There is a Javascript logon window into which I type email and password. FF then reports:
This Connection is Untrusted
You have asked Firefox to connect
securely to secure.eu.playstation.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
Normally, when you try to connect securely,
sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
Clicking technical details explains:
secure.eu.playstation.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)
If I go to add an exception, I have all the details of the certificate which reports a Verisign Class 3 certificate. The same URL loads in IE and I have checked the certificate details to make sure they match. They have the same details, serial number, and SHA1 fingerprint.
Why is Firefox rejecting this certificate? It failed with version 6, 7, and 7.01. I started using FF as my default browser a few weeks ago and PSN has never worked.

It's started working. Go figure. For those also with this problem, I'm on Tiscali/TalkTalk in the UK, just in case this is ISP related.
The server doesn't send a required intermediate certificate.
VeriSign Class 3 Secure Server CA - G3
You may have visited another website that has send that certificate if you no longer get that error.
Firefox stores intermediate certificate automatically for future use.
You can inspect the certificate chain via a site like this:
