Firefox is not responding frequently

Just installed firefox 6.0 on a brand new computer with windows 7 home 64bit, and it freezes for like 10 to 30 seconds too often saying not responding. I tried clearing cookies and cash, reinstalling, disabling all add-ons but nothing works. It even freezes in firefox safe mode. I'm using ff for many years and never had problem before. Can anybody help me? Thank you
