I recently suffered a hard disk crash, luckily everything was backed up but I cannot find my Firefox bookmarks in the back up to restore to my system, can anyone help?
I have a fill Windows back up of my hard disk taken roughly 12 hours before disk failure. I have restored my system but have failed to find my previous bookmarks from my previous version of Firefox. I guess I am asking which folder are they are in the system backup?

All your data such as bookmarks, passwords etc., is contained in a folder called a "Profile". See: Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data
You can recover your data from the old one if it's still intact and move it to the new profile. This article explains how to go about it: Managing Profiles

Hi Xircal - Thanks for this, I had been told the bookmarks were in my profile in AppData but could not get into AppData (it doesn't seem to behave like a typical Windows folder), however, first time entry, I will create a new profile and proceed from there. Thanks
The "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K and the "AppData" folder in Vista/Windows 7 are hidden folders.
- Use %APPDATA% in the File name field or make sure that you see hidden folders.

You're welcome.
