.pdf no longer opening or asking

Starting today, I can't seem to get downloads of .pdfs to open automatically. The .pdfs will download but won't ask what to do with it. I have tried every setting I can think of and i tried it without extensions, no change. Any thoughts.

Try here first:

Tools > Options > Applications

In the search box, type pdf and wait a moment...

Next to each "Adobe Acrobat 7.0 document..." you can set "Always Ask"

You may have hit bug 648511 – Firefox 4.0's PDF plugin scan doesn't find full Acrobat installation

This will be fixed in the security/stability release for Firefox 4.0 which is currently planned for release on April 28th

Just updated to 4.0.1 and still have the problem. any thoughts? Adobe updated and I use Acrobat X. It worked up until earlier this week.
