I have been using firefox for years now and am running on a Mac OS X (10.5.8) and when I tried to download the new version I was told my computer would not support it. In the process I lost the version that was working for me. What now?

I can't confirm my request because I am using apple mail and it must be tied to firefox because since I lost firefox 3.6 I have not been able to open anything sent to my email account.
