Address bar double posts website address making for long history window

Since upgrading, my address bar double lists the web address making the drop down history really long. Didn't have this with earlier version. Is there a way to just have one line in history saved. Example:

Club Pogo - exclusive games, prizes www.pogo.com

foodnetwork.com Foodnetwork.com

If I go to several saved history sites - going through double addresses is irritating.
