Hello I am having a problem with the google authentication log in page popping up when I invoke "get mail" in Thunderbird. I have never had this issue before and never use google email accounts on Thunderbird. The version that Thunderbird recently updated to is 91.8.0. The pop-up login page does it again and again if you click it away and it still does not allow me to download (get) messages. I have used Thunderbird (or its predecessor) since 1992 and have been able to maintain using it as a pop mail option. I followed the thread about this problem from the last year postings. I allow cookies in the settings and deleted all saved passwords. Again, I do not use Google email on Thunderbird and do not want to. I only use it for my private work account. Shall I uninstall and reinstall Thunderbird to get rid of this? It is very annoying and has essentially corrupted Thunderbird. The process of uninstall and reinstall is very tedious and time consuming since I have to backup files/folders that I have since 1999 and them to reinstall and copy them to Thunderbird. I simply can't "get" my messages. Could someone please help? Thank you, and thank you for keeping Thunderbird available

Mu apologies. After posting this problem on the users chat forum, I was finally able to resolve the issue which I found out is related to my work email server that recently increased the authentication security and is using Google for that. Please ignore or delete my earlier posting.
