Recent Update to Download Functionality Creates Additional Work

The recent update in FF Version 98.0 (64-bit) in which documents are automatically saved to disk:

"Downloaded files are saved to disk The files you download will be immediately saved on your disk. Depending on the current configuration, they will be saved in your preferred download folder, or you will be asked to select a location for each download. Windows and Linux users will find their downloaded files in the destination folder (this is usually the Downloads folder). They are no longer put in the Temp folder first. "

Creates significant extra work. Indeed the specific reason I USE FF is because it DID NOT create extra copies of documents on my Desktop/Downloads Folder/Etc.

I OPEN probably 100s of documents from my browser every day. 90% of these are reviewed and closed with absolutely no reason to keep a copy of them anywhere. I now have to either find a place to store these out of the way (which is taking up disk space) or delete them myself.

Even more, because the documents that I DO want to keep/save are now located in a specific folder other than the TEMP location, I have to make a conscious decision to SAVE AS, and put them somewhere I can keep track of them, or go and sort them out of the other 100s of files that I didn't need.

This needs to either be reverted, or a process created to allow for documents to be opened without creating a specific copy.
