I just downloaded and installed firefox on my new Mac Air (several times) but it disappears from the system when I restart the Mac and I have to download it again. What am I doing wrong.

If sounds like maybe you are running Firefox directly from the firefox.dmg file that is downloaded. You need to drag the firefox.app file into the Applications folder on your computer and run it from there. It's a common mistake that a lot of Mac users make.
