I've read about click-to-script and extension restriction options of chrome 70 upwards in the mozilla add-ons blog (https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2018/10/26/firefox-chrome-and-the-future-of-trustworthy-extensions/).

Especially the click-to-script option is something I was searching for for a long time. Can somebody point me to a more recent discussion of such features for firefox or better yet the capability itself? Maybe an extension could be written that implements said behaviour for the other installed extensions, disabling them until one clicks their icon and disabling them again after changing the page?

I'd also be grateful for more search terms I could use myself; maybe there's a synonym for the click-to-script behaviour I didn't come across yet, but currently I'm having a tough time finding anything on the topic.
