For over a year now I have had boxes popping up in my apple macbook air saying i need to update to the latest version of firefox but then two things happen, one is i go through the whole process only to get to the end and be told that it could not update due to a problem with the system administrator, but i have checked with apple and with my husband, whose name the accounts are in, and we have all of the passwords correct, so we don't know what the problem is. Also the firefox (or mozilla? it's orange) disk drive icon is showing up on my desktop, but it's still not updated to my system. So now i'm starting to have problems in a lot of websites because my version is not up to date and therefore not providing adequate security. Please help!

Hello, after you download the try to download the full dmg package from the above FredMcD's link be sure to trash the current Firefox application and then install the version that you have downloaded.

Do not select to remove your personal data, your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks or other personal data.
