Firefox constantly crashes on Windows 10

Ever since upgrading to Windows 10, I've been having multiple crashes with Windows 10. Most of the times it's within minutes of one another!

I'm using the latest version of Firefox (45.0.1) and have had no problems with Chrome whatsoever.

hi, in part that seems to be an issue with hardware acceleration - please try updating your graphics driver, or in case this doesn't solve the issue or there is no new version available at the moment, disable hardware acceleration in the firefox menu ≡ > options > advanced > general (that setting will take a restart of the browser to take effect).

another set of those crashes seem to be related to mediaplayback when firefox uses your system's codecs to play certain formats. is there anything special about your system's configuration in this regard (like using a windows N version shipping without media codec support or do you have installed particular codec packs)?

I disabled the hardware acceleration, and so far there have been no more crashes. Though once I restarted the application after disabling it, the Crash Reporter popped up. Other than that, no problems.

The only codecs of note that I installed was the Combined Community Codec Pack (CCCP)
