It's getting so bad I'm contemplating going back to Internet Explorer! *gasp*

I think this started when Firefox enabled "sync" for bookmarks. Is there some way to disable this?

I am constantly having one of the following problems: - no bookmarks at all - a gazillion duplicated bookmarks

Everytime I manage to fix the above problems, they happen again. Daily. I have installed a remove duplicates add-on which I think I am going to now remove, since that might be causing the 'no bookmarks at all' issue.

But I *do* want to disable the sync feature - that way the bookmarks won't get wiped out on *all* of my machines!

I'm pretty sure that it wasn't Firefox that enabled sync for bookmarks, but to disable it go to tools >options > or side menu >options >pick the sync tab, untick bookmarks in the list will disable syncing with bookmarks

You may have to force Firefox to rebuild the places.sqlite database file after having removed bookmarks via the Sync options like posted above.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.
