I had been using Mozilla for years with no password issues, but as of late I continue to get the following error message:
Sending of password for user oneilfamily4 did not succeed. Mail server incoming.Verizon.net responded:Authentication failed.

Apparently Verizon server information server changed a few months ago. Perhaps yours wasn't changed until recently. Can you double check your settings?
It may also be more appropriate to directly call their customer support to double-check such settings.
