When clicking on a field in Windows 8, why does the virtual keyboard not activate?

So I have a Yoga 2 Pro, Firefox is fine when I'm using the keyboard. When I flip into tablet mode and I want to enter text in a field I have to manually open the virtual keyboard and close it again when I am done. Chrome doesn't have this behavior so I am wondering is it just my setup or can I change a setting somewhere to open the virtual keyboard automatically?
