Issue

I have another kind of problem with Firefox

Description

I was having problems with the Real Player Video downloader, and saw the fix posted here in the forums, but all the threads are now closed. So, I was wondering...is there a consequence to making the alteration in the fix? What happens now? Does the browser have a different set of problems? Here is the fix we were advised to apply: If the value is changed, what effect does that have? "type about:config in the address bar Then in the filter box type dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npswf32.dll.

Then change the value to false."

That will only keep Adobe Flash from running in plugin-container.exe, the the crash prevention introduced in Firefox 3.6.4.

There is an update on the Real site to supposedly fix the lack of the "download this now" or whatever button.

See (read next to the big red "A"): http://real.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/7303/p/3/c/2222/r_id/119487

Interesting...but with Real support on the line, I upgraded Real Player and it still didn't work. The fix "change value..." does work though.

I saw your response in the other thread with more details on crash prevention.

Is this a big issue...does it happen much? Not that I have much choice at the moment...
