Thunderbird repeatedly prompting for security exception - how to bypass all security errors forever no matter what?

I am using Thunderbird on Linux. Google reads all my e-mail so I don't care about security in any way shape or form. I am getting continuous "Add Security Exception" windows even though I have added an exception hundreds of times.

The genesis of the security warning is my date and time are not correct. My computer does not have a real time clock and does not have enough space to add one. I don't care about that and only want to troubleshoot why the security exception is not working.

If I manually try to add an exception for "imap.gmail.com:993" under security > servers then I get "unable to obtain identification status for the site".

I am only able to check my email about once a week because dismissing these prompts are so tedious and infuriating. My productivity is poor because I am being apparently protected from myself. Please help.

What is the actual error you get?

Thanks for your reply. I can't find the actual error now because the problem has mysteriously disappeared after changing a few things.

1. Changed the UI around to minimize clutter 2. Deleted over 1000 of over 1600 messages. 3. Set gmail to not sync the important, starred, and sent items folders.

I will post back if the problem pops up again.
