I am using Thunderbird on Linux. Google reads all my e-mail so I don't care about security in any way shape or form. I am getting continuous "Add Security Exception" windows even though I have added an exception hundreds of times. The genesis of the security warning is my date and time are not correct. My computer does not have a real time clock and does not have enough space to add one. I don't care about that and only want to troubleshoot why the security exception is not working. If I manually try to add an exception for "imap.gmail.com:993" under security > servers then I get "unable to obtain identification status for the site". I am only able to check my email about once a week because dismissing these prompts are so tedious and infuriating. My productivity is poor because I am being apparently protected from myself. Please help.
