How do I expand the list of websites stored in the drop-down menu of the go bar? Seems like there are fewer with every update. My memory is not that great; I depend on that to keep track of which sites I need to check in with. I didn't delete any history prior to the last updated (up to 42.0), but now there are only 5 sites on the list. Who thought that was helpful? Very frustrating! The suggested tabs given in the New Tab are somehow not the same ones - they lead to outdated sites that haven't been visited in months. There has to be a more logical and convenient way to populate these features.

There should still be 12 items in the location/address bar drop-down list although you may see a scroll bar. I don't know how this works out on a Mac.

You can check the browser.urlbar.maxRichResults pref on the about:config page.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
