I have a pc windows 10, where I use mozilla thunderbird, with servers proximus and outlokk office.com.I also have a backup pc windows 7 with the same servers. But now, for this PC and Proximus server, I get the message non overridable TLS error occured. Hanshake error or probably the TLS version or certificate used by server imap.proximus.be is incompatible What can I do?

I made the mistake up upgrading to the latest beta, not realizing it would convert my datafile to a different format and you can't go backward. I have done recovery over the years, but all the help refers to the old formats. Opening TB just causes it to hang. I have a large thunderbird file with a lot of files. I thought maybe a folder that I use a lot was too large so I tried splitting it in 2 but it has been unable to sync those since I moved them. Instead my whole computer hung and it turned out 400+MB was being taken by a folder which gets created when a folder can't finish compressing, but I had no choice but to delete that because my computer wouldn't function. In the past when a folder wasn't working right I would delete the folder index file and it would rebuilt the index and re-built that folder. Now all of my folders have mozmsgs but only some have sbd's. And the new folder isn't even there, although it's showing in my TB app when it opens.

I need to know what types of files I should delete in order to have my folders re-sync to the server.

How do I make happen, that I sync the calendars in both Thunderbirds constantly, i.o.w. instantly (like for example the iMAP emails do)??

I find the option for new calendars: "On the network" ... Which network is here meant??? In the help there is not much info about it. I am not using and will not use Google or any kind of "social media" (!)

Can I use my own homepage host (which has some webspace left) in order to sync? Or for example an online storage like mega.nz ?

Or could the both macs just sync the thunderbird calendars just via WiFi/WLAN directly (AirDrop ?) or via Bluetooth ??

It would be so great if calendar sync would be as easy as the emails do!

Using Mozilla 115.4.2 (64-bit) on MacOS 14.0

I have plenty of folders and subfolders on my Office365 account (institutional) that I access using Thundebird.

When I reorganise my emails, moving messages from the Inbox to other folders, create new folders, rename folders etc. Thunderbird loses the subscription settings. At its first launch after such reorganization, I see only few folders, so I need to subscribe again to all my subfolders.

Questions: subscribing to almost all of the subfolders is painful.

Would you be so kind to add an option "subscribe all folders", so a user can only select those folders that need to be unsubscribed?

I have been using Thunderbird to great satisfaction. When my computer of 10 1/2 years died, I started to use old laptop of my son who made me the second user. I d/l Thunderbird on my account and it all went well till a few days ago. No Thunderbird. I d/l again, profile not found/inaccessible. I did see advice here from last year, looking for the profile under Users, app data, roaming etc. but to no avail. There is no profile.

How to solve this problem? Also after d/l the set-up, the thumbnail looks strange, like half of the image as shown in the picture. I tried d/l a few times, same result. I was very content with the program. I want Thunderbird back!

Can't read some emails and format for navigating emails is extremely inconvenient.

Sometimes when I click on a particular email, the body of the email is not only a mess of alpha and numeric characters but the email that is opened is completely different than what I selected.

In addition to this new problem, the screen display of my emails has changed; I no longer have an [Address] button across the top and when I access my addresses from a drop-down menu, they do not appear in the format they used to and the one I need.

I am attempting to use Thunderbird to migrate user "archives" from personal Gmail accounts to new Google Workspace branded accounts. The situation is: For many years, u… (funda kabanzi)

I am attempting to use Thunderbird to migrate user "archives" from personal Gmail accounts to new Google Workspace branded accounts.

The situation is:

For many years, users were using a "hybrid" account for their work emails, so they could lean on Gmail's large storage on free accounts. They would use a personal Gmail account, collect emails, and "Send As" from them. They are now moved into a new Google Workspace environment.

Users' personal email accounts could have a 50/50 split of work/personal email, and some have up to 10+ years and 50,000+ work emails.

I have set up their source and destination email accounts in Thunderbird, and am using Incoming/Outgoing Search filters to identify their work emails (as there is a unique domain) and copy only those emails to their new work-only GW accounts. It is going into basically Archive>Inbox and Archive>Sent filters on the target end, and will not be mixed with current mail.

The problem is the Copy function is breaking... a LOT. The first account I did worked flawlessly, but the second account would break when trying to copy mail. Even just 3,000 of them, or 1,500 of them. I can't tell if it's breaking because of sync interruptions, or because of mail-name-length-exceeding, or whatever reason.

I am hoping there is a way to "keep copying no matter what" and auto-skip issues. Or if not, some way to put the client in the best condition to copy thousands/ten-thousands of emails from source to destination properly. The length of upload-sync time is not concerning. Just that the copy goes properly. (So for instance, is there a way to pause syncing and allow the copy to occur "local-only" first, in case the constant processing is breaking it.)

Whatever is needed.

Email can be sent using the same smtp settings from various Android devices. Forum suggestions do not cure the problem.

This, along with all the other annoying glitches within T'bird, seem to be forcing me to abandon using T'bird after many, many years. Shame.

IONOS on 29/01/2024 require emails sent via SMTP to be from the domain of the email. eg 111.com, 222.com & 333.com I have three domains with ionos so I need to be able to logon using three different users. eg fred@111.com, bert@222.com & jim@333.com all to SMTP.ionos.co.uk BUT Thunderbird appears to only allow ONE USER for each SMTP server. Attempting to change user changes ALL instances of logon to smtp.ionos.com. "Action Required: Update Your Email Settings By 28.01.2024
