Hi there Folks, YES I donate every year, been using TB for, maybe since it started. Recently have had a number of serious security incidents !. In writing this suggestion/request, may I as an Older person suggest in your HELP, you have a "Wish List" !. In looking thru lots of themes & apps nothing equates to what I would like and maybe many others. Wish No 1. TB powers up in "Offline" mode, (DEFAULT ). ALL Systems, Windows/Linux. Wish No 2. Enable H/W interrupt to stop programme immediately if conconcerned ! ( suggest Cntrl/Return ) Wish No 3. Download messages into main email folder with subject line, Then "STOP" !. In UK I use BT IMAP as main server, I have several email folders with different passwords. Recently on TB ver 102.10 Win10 64bit. SMTP will not link to server, checked out passwords & direct on BT, ALL OK. This time I set "Pasword Manager" box ! since then NO problems (YET ). This leads me to believe we have a BUG/Corruption of password when using SMTP without "Password Manager" ?. No doubt SMTP picks up paswords from different places, Ie " Profile " or " Password Manager " Wish No 4. LETS GET SOME COLOUR !!! I would like to have "Sub Main Domains". These "Sub Main Domains" could have a choice of different colours, which would help other folk to use TB easier, also resize for poor eyesight, maybe a good little marketing statement ? These Sub Main Domains wlii not allow data entry but if clicked will bring up option "Create New Sub Folder".

I hope you find my wish List of interest. There are are several others, so I await your response. Rgds Gordon. Stay Safe.

We have different email accounts that we use on various devices. One account (which used to work), will now not send from my mac. The other accounts send from this mac and I can send from the problem account on my android phone and ipad. It also works fine if I log in to gmail's website.

The problem account receives emails fine.

It says that my password is wrong, but I've tried many times to put in the correct password but nothing changes. I've even tried changing the password but still the same outcome.

It used to work fine and then one day just decided it didn't want to anymore. The only way round it is to save it to drafts and then send it on another device.

I'm using Thunderbird 78.14.0 (64-bit) which my about says is up to date. The problem computer is Mac OS 10.9.5. Yes I know it's old, but as I say the other accounts run fine.

If anyone can suggest something to try can you please write in laymans terms.

Thank you.

Hello folks,

I need to do a clean install requiring the download of Thunderbird.exe file, I did ask a similar question a while ago but this was related to a Linux install.

Is it just me or does no one lese use checksums anymore, web sites would often suggest checking downloads publishing their checksums on the same pages as the download, this doesn't seem to be the case for Thunderbird hence my question below:

There's a directory list below, would it be safe to assume this relates to the latest download on Thunderbirds home page Version 115.7.0 https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/115.7.0/releasenotes/

https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/115.7.0/

I had a quick look on Source Forge as they usually have a page with hash codes but couldn't find Thunderbird listed.

Thanks

Hi- I am new and - hm a bit confused : TB (102 in Linux) ist protected with a primary PW. Starting TB, without the PW I am able change properties of the the keys in TB manager, e.g. confidential ect. Something missunderstood ?

Further questions : to what extent are the keys protected against an attack, while running TB or even while not running TB? And are the keys/PW protected also in the TB backupfile (profile.zip) ?

Less important but also a question. The protected TB (Primary PW) without PW lets everybody see all emails in every folder, except the new, not downloaded/deleted ones. Is this intented ?

Thanks for help & your time - to give me a better understanding. Cheers MGO

I have multiple computers running thunderbird and receive email from the same accounts. After recently adding a new machine I've noticed that many emails are being sent to junk that seem to have been trained out of the other machines. It is often not convenient to go to the new machine to set "not junk" on a particular email. Is there any tool for synchronizing adaptive filters across multiple computers?

Hi, We have two identical Win 10 computers with Thunderbird installed as email client. Up until June both computers worked fine for email account: [edited] @lvlflyer.digitalspacemail8.net. In June, one of the computers wouldn't download messages, and gave the error message in the above Subject. We've clicked on the "Confirm" button hundreds of times, no luck. The account settings for digitalspace are identical on both computers (password, port, security, etc., etc.). I've researched this topic on your forums, and none of the suggestions work. Help.... Nothing has been changed windows updates, etc., that I am aware of? I have attached the error message I am receiving. I have already, checked my gmail account online, and all the settings are correct. I also uninstalled thunderbird, and restarted my computer, and reinstalled thunderbird, no help? So, I have a different computer that I was setting up for someone else. As a test I installed Thunderbird same version and added the user account to it that was causing me issues. It works correctly! Connects to imap/smtp no problems, but on the computer I need it to work from it does not? So I am guessing the error it is not strictly on Gmail side? Also, might not even be Thunderbird? Just not sure what is happening behind the scenes, as far as, what the process is when the computer/thunderbird sends out a request to gmail to connect to it's mail servers? Could it be some type of network card or hardware issue/glitch? Everything else appears to be working correctly on the internet.

I use v102.0b5 (64-bit) on Mac OS 10.14.6 with a main password to protected my mail account passwords.

When I start Thunderbird, I have to enter my main password. Problem: The little window pops up several times even while I am already typing my main password. So I have to wait a bit until Thunderbird "calms down" and re-enter the password. But even after pressing enter, it may pop up again, but usually Thunderbaird has indeed received my password and the access to my mail accounts work fine.

This should be really fixed as soon as possible because it is very annoying.

bold textHello,

I set up my own ocsp server thanks to openssl. I have a rootCA and some client certificates. Inside those client certificates, there is a authority info paragraph with the URL for the HTTP server and the protocol OCSP. Unfortunately I did not manage to force Thunderbird to send the OCSP request toward my own OCSP server. Instead it's sending the request to another server. Anyone knows how to redirect Thunderbird's request to a specific OCSP server ?

Thank you

Hi there

Everytime I open Thunderbird on my desktop, it downloads hundreds of previously deleted/removed emails. It also often duplicates other emails that have been opened but not put into trash or removed. I think it's someone that's hacked the account but it's not picked up by my anti-virus/malware program.

Also fequently freezes the computer when in Thunderbird.....doesn't do that when the program is deleted as it is now.

Look forward to any suggestions or help

Thanks

Kerry
