I have Thunderbird v115.5.1 and i have no print option available and nowhere to configure a printer. When i hit the PRINT button, my only option is to Save To PDF. I have looked for a Tools option to set up a printer, but there are no options in my GUI

I found the setting for Global Search and turned it on. I'd like to be able to search all folders (imap and my many local folders). No matter what I put in I get zero results. Is there a time period I need to wait for it to build an index? I found an older thread about this on this forum where someone was told to add a folder to the inclusion list for global search. I have tons of folders, if this is the issue, do I really have to do this for every single folder, one by one, including even my inbox?! thanks

I have established a group in Thunderbird. I want to send a group email to all the individuals in my group. I believe that in the past I could click on the group name in the address book and have all the emails within the group come up in the To line of the email. Now I have to click on the group and then on each individual, which sends their email to the To line, but then when I click on the second person, the email is sent to the individual in the To line of a new email. How can I choose at one time all the emails of individuals in the group?

I just recently downloaded Thunderbird after using Mac Mail for years. Mail suddenly refused to display messages and no one on the Apple forum could figure out why. So I was advised to download Thunderbird. So far, I'm not a fan. Here are my issues: 1. Unread messages in the Inbox are in bold. But the bold is so close to the normal font that I can't tell them apart. Is there another, better way to mark unread messages? A tick/check mark? A coloured background? 2. Messages are automatically organised into conversations. But when the latest message comes in, the inbox message doesn't go bold. So there is no way of knowing where to find it. I have to go through all messages that have a conversation (more than one message in the inbox) and find one where the latest message is in bold at the bottom. It's a royal pain. I see the number next to the account on the left, but nothing is in bold on the right. Grrr. 3. The conversations are the wrong way up. I want the most recent message at the top, not the bottom. I would actually prefer not to have them in conversations at all, just the most recent message, but I realise that is probably asking too much. 4. There is no number next to the Thunderbird icon on my desktop when I get a message. I used to appreciate this in Mail. It told me if it was worth going to my inbox. With Thunderbird I have to open the program to find out. Ok, that's enough for now. I'd better not get started on the shortcomings of the search function, or how to bring the unread messages to the top of the inbox list... There are just too many issues to address is one posting. Hi. I love Thunderbird! But I cannot use a Gmail account.

It all started when I changed the underlying password for my Gmail account (for routine security). I changed the password too on my Thunderbird client for SMTP and IMAP.

But then it popped up with: https://accounts.google.com/v3/signin/identifier?app_domain=http://localhost& [etc]

it keeps giving me this message:

"400. That’s an error. The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried. That’s all we know."

I've tried to read online what's going on. I've deleted the account and tried to set up again, and closed Thunderbird. It keeps doing this. I've checked Google settings ... nothing untoward. It doesn't have a link to Thunderbird still.

What can I do?

I'm running Thunderbird 115.6.0. I used to have a little icon of a cloud, and a button marked New Message (to compose), both just above the listing of mail and local folders in Thunderbird's left-hand pane. Then I clicked on something (that I thought was for something else) and those two icons are gone. I have looked until I'm blue in the face but can't identify whatever it is that will bring these back. Can someone clue me in? Many thanks!

I've been a Firefox fan for years. I thought I'd try Thunderbird. I'm in need of some help please as I'm going round in circles.

I am trying to link my btinternet email account to Thunderbird. Thunderbird cannot do it automatically so I have to enter the details manually.

I have all the right settings according to BT: Incoming POP 995, SSL enabled but not StartTLS. Outgoing Port 465, SSL enabled not StartTLS. mail.btinternet.com is used.

The User Name and Password are correct but Thunderbird cannot connect to the account. There are no Firewall issues.

Something is happening because BT have notified me of potential unauthorised access and I have to reset my BT password. Even when I enter the new BT Password Thunderbird cannot link to the account.

Any suggestions as to what might be causing the problem? Thanks.

Cox.com has decided to no longer have their own email server and switched their accounts to yahoo. I can read my email directly on Yahoo, but can't get their imap to work. I changed the imap and smtp settings to yahoo. Also, the email login has changed and I changed that in Thunderbird. With Cox, the login was just "username" and now it is "username@cox.net". When I made these changes in the account settings, my email account has disappeared from the inbox, but it is still in account settings. I am using a unified inbox with several accounts.

Cox will not help me with this, and I have been on hold with yahoo for an hour with no response. I have been messing with this for two days so I hope you can help me.

I can't receive emails at any address from those in Thunderbird. I have several addresses, some in Gmail but not all. And in each of them I get this message: The STAT command did not succeed. Error getting message number and sizes. Mail server pop.gmail.com responded: [AUTH] Invalid credentials. I am using version 115.5.2

Hello, Most received emails word wrap in Thunderbird, but a small proportion overflow the right side of the viewport. Is there anything I can do to make them wrap? Is there anything I can ask the senders to do to eliminate the horizontal scroll bar? Alan.

I'm probably wasting my time here because whenever I Google this problem I get instructions that do not work. And If I try and search Thunderbird Settings with the simple searchterm SMTP I get 'Sorry! There are no results in Options for "smtp".' This seems a peculiar error message for an application that purports to be an email client! And I've just updated to the latest version (115.7.0).

So, pretty please with sugar on top, how do I get to see the smtp server settings in Thunderbird? I would really hate to have to switch to Outlook.

Thunderbird always turns off the print server every time it is started. I am running version 115.7.0 on a Win 11 OS. This problem began when I last updated Thunderbird (I think?) Jim Teague

I wish to try K-9 Mail on my Android - eventually I want Thunderbird. When I start K-9 it offers me "IMPORT SETTINGS" and then says CHOOSE FILE. What file(s) do I need to bring over from my Thunderbird profile to get 1. the address book(s) and 2. the email account data?

I'm using Thunderbird 115.7.0 (64 bits). Cannot send messages from my email account: katy.vandenhoek@gmail.com. It says it cannot make connection to server smtp.gmail.com. Receiving emails is OK. The other emailaccounts are working OK. Looks like there is something wrong with the authentification. Reïnstalling Thunderbird didn't help.

I've been looking for some ways to import GMail takeout exported mails files that use MBox format. Googling I found some extension to do it, named "ImportExportTools NG". I've tested and it seems to have some issues : for example, after importing some MBOX files, the mails counts doesn't match GMail's values. I have not spent time to diagnose it yet...

I've also tried to simply put my MBOX files in my TB local folders and it seems to work.

Please, could someone confirm that this last trivial way actually works, and thus there's no need to any extension or tool ?

I had given up on TB several months ago, but recently downloaded it again. After a couple of hours of messing with it, I was able to get it to send emails again. All was good for about 3 weeks and all of a sudden, it quit sending emails again, for no reason. I had not made any changes in the settings and I'm sure msn had not. Really getting tired of this, but I still prefer TB's customization over the other email software like Outlook, etc.

Any suggestions on how to get it working for good would be greatly appreciated, or I'll have to go back to Outlook and stay with them. This is getting old.

Need help with linking a file to a calendar reminder (event).

In Outlook I used to be able to easily link a local file located in a specified folder on my computer. For eg: I would link a .pdf invoice for my electricity bill in a folder on my computer. I would create the event to remind me I had to pay this invoice and after creating the reminder link that PDF invoice to the event and when I clicked on it, it would open the invoice using Acrobat reader or whatever other PDF reader I assigned.

I tried to attach the link using the "website" attachment tab to the event in T'bird calendar and assigned Acrobat to open the file (invoice). Acrobat does open, but returns an error saying it can't find the .pdf file. The file is definitely in the nominated folder and the link to it is correct but file doesn't open. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

I have the latest Tbird 115.4.3,and cannot figure out how to display all my folders in the left hand pane. I only see the most commonly used folders. How can I remedy this? Thanks

Previously I could hit a little arrow on the download messages button that showed a list of my email addresses, and then I'd select one and get the messages for it.

Now there is a button to download all messages.

There is also the same button that appears when you highlight an email address, but clicking it downloads messages from all the email addresses on that server, not just the email address I selected.

How do I get messages for one single email address, regardless if I have several email addresses from the same server? I've tried customizing the toolbar but I don't see anything relevant.
