Cox has recently given their email to yahoo. While the cox.net email works on yahoo mail when I tried to configure my cox.net email address on tbird mail it failed Will my cox.net email address once again work on tbird mail Thank you

Hello, I own and operate my own business in the automotive repair sector however my direct computer knowledge is not sufficient in many cases. My issue is that my Gmail and Thunderbird is linked to send messages to my clients for estimate purposes. Incoming mail to Gmail as well as outgoing from Gmail gets copied into Thunderbird. Assuming that Thunderbird had so many emails on the screen I asked the internet on how to do a mass email delete. Now I assume "that" is the reason why all my labels/folders are now empty I can both Gmail and Thunderbird? These folders held important invoices, contact information and just important information for me to go back into should a situation require it. How do I recover all of my deleted messages in Thunderbird? Will this repopulate the folders with my missing information?? The individual who set it up for me is an expert in the field however I am unable to make any contact with him. He's not responding to any of my messages or calls. Please help. Now please remember I am very ignorant when it comes to this type of experience. Please provide me with the most elementary explanations for this recovery process. Good news For some months now, I have stayed on a much earlier version of 115. Today I updated to the latest available... no issues arising so I happily conclude that Tbird is stable.

I have changed my BT password and now can't send emails via Thunderbird. I can send them with BT though. This is the answer I get when I try to send an email -

''Sending of the message failed. Unable to authenticate to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.btinternet.com. Please check the password and verify the 'Authentication method' in 'Account Settings | Outgoing server (SMTP)'.''

When I check my outgoing server settings I get this -

Description: BT Yahoo Server Name: mail.btinternet.com Port: 465 User Name: rvynerp@btinternet.com Authentication method: Normal password Connection Security: SSL/TLS

Can anyone help as I much prefer using Thunderbird for emails, over BT Richard P.

my email will go offline while in use or while other internet programs working fine and only allows "send later". sometimes comes back shortly other times can be hours later. How can I check status and bump it back online without having to shut down and lose work.

Each time I open Thunderbird email, a page on firefox opens requesting a donation. This has been going on for weeks. I reached out to Thunderbird, and all suggestions have failed to resolve the problem. Most recently I was instructed to submit the problem here. I hope this is sufficient for requesting assistance. I've used Thunderbird for many years and occasionally a message I've sent takes ages being saved, then finally it isn't. This has become more frequent recently together with having to re-enter my email password. I use Ubuntu (22.04.4 LTS) so I don't use anti-virus software and I don't use other email clients (only Thunderbird 115.10.1 64 bit).

I sometimes briefly lose my internet connection, though seemingly not when the email malfunctions, so could my old BT hub be the source of the problems? In the absence of any other solution maybe it's time to get a Chromebook and see if that's any better with Thunderbird. Firefox also now freezes a couple of times a week (and not being an IT wizard I hate not knowing what incantations to type into the terminal when anything goes wrong.)

My Thunderbird cache is using a gigabyte of disk space. I'd like to clear it, but it's not clear to me if I would be wiping out stored messages when I do that.

I like to download my emails to my computer (and keep copies on the server, too). I thought that was what I was doing, since I can view my emails when offline, but maybe I'm just accessing the cached copies?

Will I lose my old emails if I clear the cache?

Greetings: Here is an error message that is now so common that I can no longer send email to any account. Also, I have not been able to send email to any gmail account for last year or two. Please help. Error Message:

"Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: <MattMcKeegan_PLS@proton.me>... Relaying denied: You must check for new mail before sending mail.. Please check the message recipient "MattMcKeegan_PLS@proton.me" and try again."

I recently moved to using Thunderbird for my emails on an iMac running MacOS High Sierra. I am baffled by the number of email erasure/disposal options I was suddenly presented with, namely: 1. A "Trash" folder, with trash bin icon; 2. A "Junk" folder with a flame icon; 3. A "Junk" folder with no icon; 4. A "Junk E-mail" folder with no icon. Confusingly, some of these folders are not provided with an "Empty deleted/junk" option! Can I completely delete folders 3 and 4 (the one without an icon)? And finally, how can I set things up so that the deleted and junk folders are automatically emptied at set intervals?

Have several folders and sub-folders for saving important emails in Thunderbird. One choice for saving subfolders. my master email address. I can save to this folder but cannot retrieve those emails. Attached is a screen shot. How do I retrieve emails from those folders???

Hi, I am on a HP laptop using T-Bird 115.11.0 (32-bit). I am trying to add a new contact to the address book. There is a problem or I am doing something wrong.

The right side of the screen offers me to enter details of the New Contact. However, it only allows room for 1st name, 2nd name and Display Name. Once entered I cannot scroll the screen to enter more details or to save what has been entered or anything - except to close address book or cancel which button only partially appears. By clicking around the white parts of the screen I can get Nickname to appear (see screen dump) and I fill it in and then nothing. I am effectively stuck. Looks like there is some window sizing problem here which is preventing the user from seeing how to proceed with completing this form.

Good day,Thunderbird keeps deleting messages older than 1 month. I have checked the settings of my account as well as thunderbird and both is on do not delete messages.

We use this account for business and would like to search emails older than a month for references.

It's pretty self explanatory. I have three different email address configured within Thunderbird and it does not recognize any of them as "Me". Within each account, they are displayed like anyone else's email.

Been using TB for over a decade and cannot for the life of me figure this out.

I just moved (drag and drop) an email from my Inbox to a Topical Folder I created a few years ago. When I went to look at the message in that Topical Folder, it wasn't there in the list of emails. I had responded to the email earlier, so I found a copy in my Sent folder. When I dragged and dropped that Sent copy to the topical folder, it was not visible in the Topical Folder email list (but was gone from the Sent folder). In addition to responding to the original email, I had also forwarded it to someone else, so I had that person forward it back to me. When I dragged and dropped that forwarded-forwarded email from my inbox to my Topical Folder, it was not visible in the topical folder (and was gone from my inbox).

Confused as I am? Well, when I search on the Topical Folder, I could see listed all the emails I had moved there! But I can't open them or see them in the folder list, so they might as well be lost.

My question: Is there some sort of filter or something of which I'm not aware that has a default setting that makes some stored emails invisible? I'm starting to get worried that other messages might have vanished from my view!

Any advice would be very much appreciated!
