On June 16, I sent an email which went through just fine. I haven’t been able to send a receive any emails since. I got an error message that said that sending the password did not succeed and that there was a server error on inbound.att.net. That was followed up by an error message that said that the login to that server failed. I tried entering the password I had but it didn’t work, so I changed the password and the new password didn’t work. I don’t know what else to do. I’ve tried turning off the computer and turning it back on, closing Thunderbird and reopening it. I hope you will be able to get this problem resolved quickly. Thanks in advance!

I have read these may of been archived, but I cannot locate the messages/archive file. Can someone help please. I have cheked my web server and they have gone from there also....worried.

When I try to send an email from my dmonkman1@cogeco.ca account, I regularly get a message stating "Password required for outgoing (SMTP) server. When I enter the password associated with this email account, the same message reappears. The strange thing is that sometimes this message does not appear and the emails do send properly. I also sometimes get a message saying that the email was sent but that a copy was not placed in my Sent folder. I've updated Thunderbird (115.12.1 64-bit) but the problem still occurs. I've also spoken to my internet provider (Cogeco) and they're telling me that it's a Thunderbird issue.

The extra emails do not appear to be in the junk folder. The two accounts are: @verizion and @netzero. Where are the other emails going? I've looked in all the local folders. Any help truly appreciated.

I would like to keep all mail downloading to Thunderbird - the option seems to be logging on/off yahoo for each address otherwise. Neither Cox nor Yahoo is helpful, though I've searched through the available information. Any suggestions? TBH, I don't remember exactly how I set up all of the email addresses and passwords when I first started using Thunderbird, which also downloads my gmail and ancient yahoo-addressed mail. Any help desperately appreciated!

Thunderbird downloads and duplicates my mail all the time. It's clogging up my computer. I know that I have a 50Gb mailbox and I have almost 200Gb of files on my disk, so I think it downloads e-mail from time to time.

The solution was complicated. Here's a better, faster one:
Just copy the whole Thunderbird folder to the laptop.
Zip it with 7-zip using minimal compression, copy it to a portable hard drive or thumb drive, rename the existing Thunderbird folder on the laptop to Thunderbird.bak, and unzip the new Thunderbird folder to the laptop.
I had previously copied the Thunderbird folder directly to the portable drive, but that takes hours because of all the little files. 7-zip is faster.

I've tried all tips and suggestions: Accepted cookies, OAuth2 authentication in both IMAP and SMTP, removed saved password, but still got the message: "probably wrong configuration, username or password". At start, enter my name and Gmail address, leave the password blank and click "Done" I don't see any sign of "Sign in with your Google account" as I have read in several places. Following installation of the 32 bit version of Thunderbird 128.0b on 12 June 2024 the content of all emails in the Inbox which existed at that date - and back to 28th September 2021 - would not display at all.
Emails in the Drafts and Sent areas were unaffected.
Emails received since 12th June are displaying normally - as are e-mails dated prior to 28th September 2021.
I have re-indexed the Inbox with no improvement.
The INBOX e-mails show quite normally in Windows Mail -which I only use on my laptop.
When I open E-Mails that contain images e.g. Big 5 stores. the images do not appear, All I get is listings
