I just purchased a Kindle Fire HD Plus, and I was able to load the Firefox mobile app on the device, but I can't get it to sync with my account. Following the directions in the help articles, I tap the three dots in the upper right-hand corner. Then, I select "Settings" and "Sign in." At that point, the browser goes to the following page: about:accounts?action=signin&entrypoint=preferences, but the page never loads; it just keeps grinding away. I also tried using the QR code method, but that didn't work either. Please help.

OK, I changed phone recently & managed to sync across from my old phone. I think I had to reset all the settings though, so it only saved/synced tabs & bookmarks etc...

The new phone then stopped working & so I'm now trying to sync again on another new phone, but nothing seems to be syncing or working at all. Even logging in never seems to work properly. Just lots of spinning icons & no response from Firefox browser/account.

Also the wording on the verification emails I received is absolutely awful & needs to be rewritten in my opinion, as they leave you with no clue what to do next?

If anyone at Firefox is listening, please contact me with some step by step clear instructions of how to resolve the current issues I'm facing trying to login, sync, reset settings, etc....

Thanks, I'm not sure why you've made having an account so cumbersome, awkward & unfriendly. It feels like your design goes against your company ethos.

If any other user have any help or advice your knowledge is appreciated.

Hi,

I'm using Firefox for all my devices. I activated synchronization of all items from all devices. But the History is not synchronized between devices. Meaning, from my Windows Firefox, I'm not able to see the history from my Android device, and vis versa.

I'm using last versions of FF from all my devices (I always update to last version when one is available).

Is there something I'm missing?

Many thanks for your help.

Best regards,

Hi! I cannot sync Bookmarks or Tabs. On the Android "Account Settings", it shows "Sync now -- Last synced: never". However, tapping it does nothing but make it flash for a millisecond. Nothing else seems to happen. And when I tap the "Tabs" icon, it shows "0" open tabs. Selecting the "sync phone-PC" icon on that screen, and tapping the "Sync" button at the bottom, it will say "SYNCING" but never actually syncs. Please help, thank you in advance.

I have an old Lenovo tablet running Firefox 68.11 in Android Kitkat (4.4)

This device has never synced before, and as you know Mozilla, for reasons known only to themselves, never made a simple bookmark export in the Android app.

My attempts to set up a sync has also failed, access to https://accounts.firefox.com is apparently inaccessible, the page never loads, except for the logo you can see below.

Am I just out of luck?

I know that I have seen tons of forums already regarding this issue. However, I still don't understand the reason for me being unable to sync my logins and passwords to my smartphone device via the desktop version of Firefox Browser I have. I switch to this browser from Chrome because of the AdBlock, but I still don't understand how it is so much easier and simpler with them to sync while here I am having a hard time to get all logins and passwords to be available on all of my devices.

Hi there! I have a new S22+, all systems up to date. I'm logged into Firefox on both the Android and on my Mac Air.

Last time I migrated to a new phone, Sync filled in all my passwords on the phone. This time I'm having to copy and paste all the passwords; Samsung autopass (or whatever it's called) offers to fill them in, but of course doesn't have those passwords anyway.

What do I need to tweak or do differently to get the passwords to fill in?

I have Firefox sync set up for my desktop and Android. For the past moth or so Firefox on Android can't send tabs to my desktop as it says "No devices connected". Despite this I can send tabs from my desktop to the Android install.

I am using the latest ESR on Windows, and have used both the latest main release and beta versions of Firefox. This issue has been ongoing for several versions. Full uninstall and removal of local files for both devices has not helped, neither has signing in an out. It seems that the Android side simply cannot see there's other devices period.

I just finished setting up my new pc with Windows 11 (Feb 2023 updates) and installed Firefox 110.0.1) and wanted to transfer my logins, passwords, etc, from my Android 12 Phone's Firefox 110.1.0, and other pcs. A window popped up giving instructions how to sync my phone, as follow:

      • Sync Firefox on you phone or tablet. 1) open Firefox on your Mobile Device. 2) Go to the menu (<ios>&<android>menu examples shown) and tap sync and save data. 3. Tap ready to scan and hold your phone over this code.***

I'm 73, have used Firefox since first release in 2004. In all these years I have never seen SYNC in the instructions to "sync and save and to point the phone at a barcode-thingy" or at least not in this world. The instructions made it seem like SYNC was right there to see, but I had to dig thru layes of options to finally find it. You can blaim it on my 73 yr old brain, I guess, but nothing like these instructions exist in Windows or Android firfox. What in the world are your programmers smokin' these days. I would just as soon open up Edge or Chrome and did up the passwords I need to log into my banking and creditcard accounts...heck, it seems like MAYBE I should just dump Firefox after almost 20 years and just use those other browsers. At least there instructions are much simpler that this ol' man can follow. Please have someone review your published helps info on your webpages, and help those Sr. citizens like me to more easily find what we need without calling up grandsons or granddaughters for help (their parents are worse than I am at most techy stuff!) First off it set the search bar and menu at the bottom of the screen and I didn't know how to change that. Then I couldn't sync with all my account passwords and bookmarks previously saved on other apps. I had to delete the app because the idea of privacy is great and all but I need to get access to my preferred websites and accounts easily. If you can provide an easy fix I will give the app another try.

Thanks.

With the removal of a 'speed dial' from the recentish big update of Firefox for Android I thought I could use the Shortcuts (on the somewhat limited homepage options) to do the same job.

But these don't seem to sync with Firefox for Windows and there's no Shortcuts option in the sync menu. I switch between two platforms a lot and having those shortcuts sync is really important as I add pages for looking at at different times on different devices.

I *know* I could use bookmarks, but that's another couple of clicks every time I want to go to a webpage - over the course of a day that could be hundreds.

It's used to be possible to have a syned homepage in Firefox for Android. It's still possible in Vivaldi, Opera & Brave. But I'd like to use Firefox.

Anyone any info on how I can sync the homepage Shortcuts across Firefox for Android and for Windows?

Or is there another way of having a synced speed dial-style homepage on Firefox on different platforms?
