Every time I search something on a certain website I get a pop up that says: "This page is asking you to confirm that you want to leave — information you’ve entered may not be saved." This has only started happening since Firefox updated and it's very annoying. I use the website for work so I don't want to stop every ten minutes to click leave page.

In version 89, if you put a web address in a google search it shoots up to the top, showing you a list of what you have already looked at with that letter/letters. The problem here is that, like with everyone else, I get spam and phishing. To check if it is a real one or not, I usually put the address in a google search first which then shows if it is a possible real one or not. I tried this with a phishing email I got. I put in the address "therightcontact.org" into what I though was the google search bar and instead of displaying the google search, it instantly put it up the top and started loading the page. This could be disastrous for many computers if it automatically loads the page instead of a google search. I just tried and if you start typing any address in a google search, it shoots up to the address bar and starts putting addresses of websites that you have bookmarked or visited. If you wanted to see something for a train for example, it will ALWAYS show the websites you have up the top first. So basically you can not do any google search without it taking you to the list of the latest websites you have visited. My son is trying to search pages for his homework, but it keeps loading the same webpage every time he does a search. Is there a way to turn this off as it is very annoying not being able to do a simple search?

With the latest release of FF, when I load the google.com page and try to type in the search box, FF moves my cursor to the FF address box. How can make this stop? !!!!! I have the same problem with Chrome and I hate it. To make matters worse, when FF has moved my cursor (without my permission!!!!) into the address box and I type a question, FF tells me it's a BAD URL !!!!!!

To Whom,

I am an enthusiastic user of Firefox (89.0 64 bit) under Windows 10 Pro 20H2.

Yesterday, I installed Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 (Community edition) on my PC and FF stopped working. At subsequent startup, FF showed a "New Tab" -- blank -- instead of my Homepage. "New Tab" never changes.

I switched to the Microsoft "Edge" browser, which allowed me to import my "Bookmarks" (created in FF), and offered me a working link to Mozilla Help. "Edge" works fine in every respect.

Mozilla "Support" steered me to an article about changing what was displayed on the "New Tab" -- "Change your New Tab page content" -- but the "Personalize" button wasn't anywhere to be found, so it didn't help me.

And the "Settings" item was where it should be on the hamburger menu, but picking the item just returned to the "New Tab"

By picking from a list of recent links dropped-down from the address box in FF, I was able to put an assortment of candidate links into the address box, but not to "Visit" any of them. The Tab stayed stubbornly "New". It seemed to me that most things were as expected up to that point. But a browser that won't navigate is a sad thing.

I'm doing OK with "Edge" + my bookmarks, but I am anxious to get back to FF. What should I do?

Sincerely,

Al Bondiga

Hi! Netflix used to work great in Firefox on my Mac OS X 10.11.6 macbook. Now I've been getting an error message saying "Looks like your browser is no longer supported" when trying to play video on Netflix and it won't play. I noticed that it self-updated a couple times over the last few days but these updates did not solve the problem. I'm hoping that this problem can be fixed so that I can keep watching Netflix on Firefox, as I find Chrome and other browsers are very slow and laggy compared to Firefox. Thanks :)

Since the upgrade I have not been able to access sites I have used in Firefox for years. All the sites are at shockwave.com, such as https://www.shockwave.com/gamelanding/the-daily-snoop-a-hidden-object-game.jsp. I contacted Shockwave but they have no idea, just telling me to disable my add-ons such as ad blockers. That's no solution because (1) I've always had the same add-ons enabled and (2) the same add-ons do not affect MS Edge.

I attached a screen shot of the page I now see in Firefox and what it should look like.

Does anyone have a suggestion to resolve this issue within Firefox?

Thanks.

This problem appeared today! on PC, not all sites but in a couple of the sites, the text won't show or only some of the texts show.

I disabled my add-ons and cleared all the data(history, cache, and everything) even uninstalled and reinstalled the browser multiple times. I got a good antivirus too and there's no problem there. I can Ctrl+A the page and the text just isn't there(like the picture) or it's just a very small blank space(the links in the text are clickable in the small blank space) I tried the Hardware Acceleration method, the windows clear text method, and the text color method too. zooming in or out makes no difference. most sites have no problem or they're missing a very small amount of text on certain pages not the whole site. all of these sites work perfectly fine in chrome and opera.

is this a problem with a new update or something?

here's an image, all the places I highlighted with red, used to have texts!

Hello, it has been some time now. I'm using Firefox 89 on iMac. Some sites' pages become grey and you don't know what that is until you use another browser and find that it's the accept all cookies question on every site you go. Problem is that sometimes you don't see that button and the page becomes grey, it's somewhere maybe but you can't see it and can't click it. How is that possible? That happens evens if I change the settings in cookies management in security and privacy.

For many years I've been able to do a Google search from Firefox, the result being shown on Google.com and from there I was able to click on Settings in the toolbar beneath the search text box on the page, which displayed a drop down with various options, including Advanced Search, Languages, Search History etc.

However today, clicking on Settings on Google.com takes me to https://www.google.com/preferences instead of displaying the drop down. This would force me to navigate to the advanced search manually, making use of the search from the address bar functionality of Firefox amost useless.

This behaviour is only happening for me in Firefox, with Chrome and Edge both displaying the drop down when clicking on Settings.

The Settings I'm referring to is outlined in the attached image.

I've been using Firefox with Virgin Media's TV Go https://virgintvgo.virginmedia.com/en.html for quite a while without a problem. After the latest update I got the message to update the browser to the latest version and restart. I've tried talking to Virgin about it but been given the runaround by them - surprise. I've tried other browsers, Safari, Chrome, but the quality of the stream is poor compared to what I was getting with Firefox. Has anyone got any ideas? Any hopes?

Thanks
