Sync is not working completely (logs included)

I have reinstalled the OS on my lap top and after a successful login to my account I am unable to sync everything from the account. The logs can be found in: https://controlc.com/8afabe84

I have the same account set on two different devices (My desktop PC and my android phone, this device I am trying to sync is the third one) and both those device were synced long time ago.

I tried with another profile which I am using for my work related stuff, still no success. First I tried syncing on Ubuntu 20.10 and then installed on Ubuntu 20.04(currently) but it is without success.

I need to sync to this device the bookmarks, extensions, saved logins, etc... Currently I do not have my other PC to export this stuff, please help.

Dear all,

I am planning a move towards the Firefox ESR 78.6.x. Currently my customer is using the Firefox Rapid Release 84.x and need your help with the profile migration. The customer has a very isolated on-premises environment and does not allow the users to login into a Firefox-Account. Therefore the settings for Cookies, Cache, History and especially Bookmarks are not synched.

Environment details:

  • Enterprise environment with several tausends of clients
  • All clients on Windows 10 Enterprise between 1809 and 20H2
  • All clients have always the newest Firefox installed currently 84.x

This creates a huge challenge to sync this stuff. Therefore I have now identified the following two options:

  1. 1 Allow the downgrade by using the environment variable MOZ_ALLOW_DOWNGRADE on Windows. For this option I am trying to find the real reason why this "Downgrade-Stop" has been implemented in the first place? What risks in detail do I take to allow this downgrade? Has anybody done this before and do you mind to share your experience here? How many issues did you face and how did you remediate the issues?
  1. 2 Hand over the migration to the users. Copy their current profile to their desktop and ask them to import their bookmarks manually. Not preferred by users and I can't even blame them for.

Is there any other way to automatically sync the profiles from 84.x to ESR 78.6.x without user interaction?

Hi, I have a probem. My PC broke down. I lost all my data. After i reinstaled Firefox on my pc and Connected it to Sync, i was not able to get my bookmarks back. I see them on my phone under - Bookmarks - Desktop Bookmarks, but i can' t see them on my PC. I tryed to sync them, but nothing. I remember that when this happened last time, i just loged in and got all my bookmarks back, but now i have lost half a day, but got nothing out of it....

Hello, Is there a way to use a different theme on one machine (light) and use the dark theme on a different computer but still be able to sync the data?

I have tried this from a previous question https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1242818

Set services.sync.prefs.sync.lightweightThemes to False, but this does not work.

Did it on both macOS machines, closed and restarted the browser, and changing the theme on one browser ends up changing the theme on the other machine.

Is there any way to have to separate themes on two different machines?

I exported logins (to .csv) before re-installing win 10 but now there does'nt seem to be any way of importing them back into Firefox. I must be missing something obvious… (funda kabanzi)

I did a system restore because I thought an update had messed up some things, specifically I could not sign in to a site I use regularly because I would get a black screen and a message stating that "Northern Tool" is not currently available in your country. I had been using a vpn but it was set for a U.S. city and both I and the website are in the U.S. also. After system restore for a time only 2 days prior, my Firefox was apparently removed from my computer and all history of it. Now I am having trouble re-installing and using sync to get back my saved stuff. This is all on another PC with Windows 7.

It seems completely unneccessary for you to keep sending me notices about that as if I were a totally new user every time I log in on my Firefox. I prefer using Firefox, my guide on Internet, and I use it all day. I have already insured you I have the latest version. Is that okay for you too? /Irma Ridbäck now 80 yrs!

Just made a brand new firefox account. want to sync to my phone, to easily send websites to my phone. signed in on both desktop and android and both are synced. on my phone, everything works great and i can see all my open PC tabs. Then, the erroe happens.

On my desktop, when i right click on tab, and select "send to device", it says "no devices connected". This message is incorrect. on the desktip, when i go to my forefox account settings, it conforms my phone is indeed connected.

Why can i not send to device?

I recently made an account for Firefox so I could use Sync. Whenever I press the three lines at the top left corner it displays my email, for whatever reason. I share my screen often and I wouldn't want to accidentally leak my email and/or any other sensitive information.

Is it possible to make Firefox display my username instead of my email, or make it go away completely without losing functionality? Thanks in advance!

Idiotically, I can access new account in Chrome but not in FF. FF continually displays deleted account email address despite clearing cache, and when I attempt to "use a different account" - the new active account - the result is as in the screenshot. It does not accept the address.
