I was trying to troubleshoot a black screen of death issue with Windows10 that first started appearing after Firefox adopted the new Private Browsing icon. In the process of doing so, I tried every combination of Firefox settings imaginable. Nothing worked as far as Asus, Windows, or Firefox settings, rolling back/ updating various drivers, etc. So, I decided to refresh Firefox and when that did not work, I decided to uninstall and reinstall Firefox. I'm not sure if that worked as far as the original black screen of death issue is concerned because now Firefox no longer remembers my cookies and site data allowed exceptions (my only exceptions were my bank websites, which worked as expected until the uninstall/reinstall). I've tried selecting always use private browsing and always delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed (my previous settings), but every time I close Firefox and return those three exceptions are missing. Any ideas would be most welcome. BTW, does anyone know how to use that folder Firefox puts on the home screen labeled "Old Firefox Data" because I was expecting there to be a .exe file to click on to reload all the previous settings in one fell swoop.

Before updating Firefox to 123.0.1 (64-bit) + MacOS Sonoma, I could use FIDO2 on OnlyKey and login to my proton mail. Now, however something has changed on Firefox that I get presented with two prompts to touch my usb key, but the key itself doesn't respond to the second prompt and login fails.
I first get this prompt as before. I select 'Authenticate' and would be presented with the second picture. Since my key is not expecting to be touched, nothing happens when I touch it and login fails with the message displayed in the last picture.

Firefox version 122.0 Mac: Sonoma 14.1.1 apple silicon
The problem emerged about a little over a year ago (around September 2022). It started with an installation of firefox on another machine running BigSur, and I guess the problem got ported when I restored a time machine backup on this current machine. I attempted to troubleshoot the issue by following mozilla support and reddit threads but to no avail. I, at the time, settled on monthly time machine backups, but now finally decided to address it properly.

I set up a Primary Password, but I can easily get around it by clicking 'cancel' then clicking 'home' icon. then I can get into ANY of the links. For others who have access to my computer NOT having that access is Exactly why I set up Primary password in the first place. Surely there must be a way to fix this???? haas2128@comcast.net Thanks. After inputting my master passwords, the browser only loads 16 of the 100+ passwords I had stored with it.
I am able to access them through the deprecated Lockwise app I have on my phone but they won't load on my desktop browser, even after doing a sync on my Firefox profile.
Is there a way to recover the lost passwords?

Hi, I use windows hibernate a lot. One vulnerability of hibernate is that the contents of RAM get written to the hard drive in unencrypted form in a file called hiberfil.sys. This means that any encryption keys in RAM used to access encypted files will be written to hiberfil.sys and can be extracted if a malicious party has physical access to the drive.
Thus, the question:
Does Firefox store encryption keys, passwords, or log in details in RAM at any time while in use?
Thanks.

Hi dear Community!
As of recent, my AntiVirus software is flagging Firefox.exe (Full path: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe) as a vulnerable application. I have been using firefox for years (Because I love it, you guys are heroes) and i have been using Kaspersky for years. Firefox has only been flagged as of recent.........
I hope someone knows why, has this too or can calm my paranoia
Some Additional information:
Have you clicked any suspicious links? No i have not. The links i have visited were all https, checked and acknowledged by Kaspersky and i can say with full certainty that the sites were legit
Have i downloaded any files as of recent? Yes, but from reputable sources and always checked using Hashes and validating using KSN (Kaspersky security network).
(For the Mods, im sorry for previously posting this in the wrong forum.)

I had set Google to be my default search engine. But that seems to have been replaced by yahoo! [I have tried to put a screen shot here but Firefox won't let me] I searched for Google in the search box which put the following in the url.
In Settings>Search, there is no Yahoo. Presumably it has hacked my computer. How can I get rid of it? I am running Windows Defender (3 1/2 hours to go) and I have Reset Firefox. Win11, 64 bit, latest Firefox

Each time I connect to the Sam's Club website I get a popup box that says "Let us know your human (no robots allowed)" even before I try to login. There is an "X" in the upper left corner of the message that I can click on twice and the box goes away. I then can click login and my password saver fills the boxes at which time I get the same box. I click again on the X and a message says there is a problem, try again later.

I have a local only test ca and test web server. How do I load the CA certificate into Firefox. Adding it via "settings" did not work, the browser says Adding a root via "settings" does nothing. When I access a web server it says "the original certificate provided by the server is untrusted", in the issuer name field. It never actually shows the certificate. Adding a file to the appdata area (this is on windows 10) also fails; changing the enterprise ca settings does not work. This used to work.

Hi,
My saved passwords are not showing up. I followed the advice on this post, by setting signon.debug and doing about:logins. Here are the errors shown in the console:
LoginManager: Getting a list of all logins asynchronously. LoginManager.sys.mjs:395:14 Login storage: Returning 502 logins for specified origin with options [object Object] storage-json.sys.mjs:704:10 Login crypto: Failed to decrypt cipher text of length 92 with error NS_ERROR_FAILURE. crypto-SDR.sys.mjs:179:12

Then that last mesage is repeated another 501 times.
Any idea what is wrong. I have only one profile the default one. Firefox is up to date at 122.0.1 on iMac 12.7.3
Thank you David
