How can I disable various Firefox usage hints? I've uploaded an example of one of these hints associated with the List all Tabs button. This hint pops up every time I start Firefox. There are other hints like the attached that appear from time to time.

This doesn't appear to be a bug. During a recent Firefox update, I believe I either checked a box to show me these hints or I failed to uncheck the appropriate box. I haven't figured out how to discontinue these hints (via Internet search, Firefox support search, or me poking around in Firefox settings).

I'm running desktop Firefox on Windows 11 Home, version 10.0.26200 build 26200.

Thanks.

I am constantly getting hit with all sorts of REPEATED prompts to "Try" features..ex - "Try Horizontal Tabs" or "Create a Profile". I am getting frustrated with the inability to stop these annoying and useless prompts. I need a browser that let's me work the way I want and need to work, I don't need a browser that thinks it knows better than I, what I need. Using about:settings is not intuitive and leads to breaking more things than it fixes. I try to stop the prompts to try horizontal tabs and it breaks my easy access to the ChatGPT cog.

Put all these feature recommendations on a single page displayed to the user with a "Do Not Show Again" checkbox. Or limit the prompts to 3 times max or once a month. Something far more reasonable than every time I open the browser. People, this is not difficult - Stop being over-baring and persistent with these undesirable recommendations. ALL USERS ARE NOT THE SAME.

If I do not "Try" when prompted, especially the 2nd, 3rd time etc. it is highly likely that I am not interested and want to be left alone. I am ready to ditch Firefox and move to Chrome or Opra. Let me reword that - I am being run off by Firefox's nag tactics. I assure you another day or two of this and - & "%ProgramFiles%\Mozilla Firefox\uninstall\helper.exe" -ms will be next. I am not going to use about: and search through endless config options every time I need to get my work done. Make it easy to stop or stop it entirely but stop trying to control my browser usage. I don't have to use Firefox you know. After 48 hours passes if these prompts don't go away, FireFox will be automatically removed. In other words, give me a reason to manually stop this scheduled task.....or don't.

$action = New-ScheduledTaskAction -Execute "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\uninstall\helper.exe" -Argument "/S" $trigger = New-ScheduledTaskTrigger -Once -At (Get-Date).AddHours(48) Register-ScheduledTask -Action $action -Trigger $trigger -TaskName "UninstallFirefox" -Description "Uninstalls Firefox in 48 hours"

Almost every time I open up Firefox it has a little pop-up under the tool bar asking "Open Firefox every time you restart your computer?", and every time I select "Not now", which I guess is intended as only a temporary answer. How can I permanently say "No" and keep this from popping up constantly?

When the Global Privacy Control request is checked (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/global-privacy-control?as=u&utm_source=inproduct) a persistent bubble appears at the bottom of the page indicating the request has been accepted. The bubble is annoying. Is there a way to continue to use this feature without the bubble appearing?

How do we turn off the reminders? Why do they not stop appearing after an update, the way they normally do?

Thanks!

I didnt see settings that would disable mozilla sales pop ups - is there some way to turn these off permanently? I have already turned off the ai features. Really appreciate any suggestions!

Every time I open more than a couple of tabs, a Firefox pop-up asks if I'm overwhelmed; I'm not. How can I make it stop? (I have already unticked Recommend features in Settings and set browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.asrouter.userprefs.cfr.features to False.) Equally annoying is the constant 'Summarise page' feature reminder. I have certainly Got It! by now.

Two days ago, I made my first post to these forums. Now I'm being spammed with "Congrats on your first forum reply!" emails from this website. I am getting a new one every hour and a half or so. [I am not sure this question is for Settings. None of the categories offered really seemed to fit this issue very well. Suggestions for re-posting are welcome.] On Firefox for Mac, Apple now has a pop up bubble to display the requested six digit 2FA number, first in the upper right corner, then, annoyingly, repeating often in multiple additional useless places on the screen, whether or not the code has already been used. The Apple community says there is no way to block this misbehavior through Apple, except disabling all 2FA, which is a bad idea. Is it possible to block the multiple appearances of 2fa code advisory bubble all over the place through Firefox controls? This problem reportedly does not appear on the native Mac Safari, nor reportedly on Chrome. I got to admit, I don't sign into Firefox, and not being forced to do so is a Firefox attraction for me. ]

In settings there exists the option

"Open Firefox automatically when your computer starts up"

I have specifically chosen to disable this option; there's nothing wrong my hand.

I am perfectly capable of moving my mouse pointer to the Firefox icon and clicking it when I need to; and running on a decent spec machine with a late spec NVMe drive, the startup is near instantaneous.

I don't need or want additional Windows boot clutter.

Nevertheless Firefox periodically nags to enable this useless setting option like I maybe don't know it exists. How do I stop that ?

Whilst it's not every time I start it, I recently reinstalled Windows 11 barely a month ago. I've already been asked 3 times.

On modern systems running on high spec storage devices this seems like such a pointless option, but to even repeatedly try to push people to use it when they don't want to seems somewhat disingenuous.

Given Ramageddon where people are having to build systems with lesser amounts of RAM it seems even more unlikely that people are going to want bulky applications that they may not immediately need to be auto-loaded every time they boot their PC, before they will be able to use their pc for whatever they switched it on to do.

Is there option to disable these "helpful" suggestions ? Thanks!  :)

Is there a specific name for the Firefox notification bar, other than that? NOT anything to do with popup blocking. The same bar that has the "mailto" handler pop up that appears beneath the address bar. All I can find is information related to website popup blocking which is obviously no help at all.

Thanks, Frig
