I cannot set my preferences because the preferences menu will not display when I select Command, from the pulldown menu under Firefox in the top left banner. I am stuck with whatever this is. I cannot set my search engine. I cannot set my popup preference. I cannot set any preference. I use Mac BigSur 11.5.2. I can't share data. I am having trouble streaming my favorite radio station because I cannot reset my popup preference for the station. Nor can I use my search engine: DuckDuckGo without typing it into the Start search box because I cannot set my search engine preference. I cannot set other preferences because it seems I don't have any options since I can't get the preference menu.

Firefox just updated itself to 93.0 and now suddenly I have a big black border around the searchbar when it is focused. The userchrome "#searchbar { border: none !important; }" gets rid of the white border when the searchbar is not focused, but (just a stab in the dark) the userchrome "#searchbar[focused="true"] { border: none !important; }" does nothing when it is focused. How can I get rid of it? (It can be seen in the right-hand part of the attached image.)

Hello. I've just recently refreshed Firefox. Before I did that, I had a home icon next to the round refresh icon on the upper left of the menu. Now I don't have it. And I can' click to the home icon to get a new home page of Firefox! And I am NOT a happy camper. Did you all forget to put that on there or what?

Yes, I am fully aware that I can click the plus sign to get a new page. But I love the home page icon. Is it coming back by any chance?

How can i hide my display/screen resolution from websites? I use Firefox in windowed mode not with my default screen size but websites know my default resolution. This can be used to identify my pc. I dont want that for privacy reasons like tracking and adverstising. How can i prevent this? I found many threads/posts about this in various forums/websites. They are talking about Tor Browser and that websites can identify you if using full-screen mode. But as i said, im using Firefox not Tor and while im using windowed-mode websites still know my default resoltion. I tested this on https://whoer.net/

Another question, how can i restore the default window size in Firefox?

I had about 5 you-tube download add-ons, I always had the download text under the video, and buttons on my tool bar, everything Disappeared and I can't download any videos. I removed all the you-tube apps and reinstalled and nothing changes, is there an add-on that will give me the download option? I am using windows 10 and everything I have has been updated, and I have been doing this for years so something has changed.

FF is offering me two versions of my e-mail when I login to a website where I have specifically told it to 'never' remember a password. The little black selection dropdown shows both myUserName@myMailserver.com myUserName@myMailserver.co When I click to login page of 'website.com'. It does not offer this for all websites that use e-mail address as login.

I have checked and the website in question shows up in 'never save' exceptions to my 'ask to save usernames and passwords'.

So I have no saved passwords to remove for that site--when I look up 'website.com', I get nothing.

2 questions: why does FF continue to offer a login name for that site?

FF 93.04 beta (will be updated in a few minutes to next version) MacOS 11.6 Big Sur and where can I find and zap 'myUserName@myMailserver.co' without losing all of my other logins & passwords that I do allow FF to store for me?

I need the scrollbar widths to be wider. i have difficulty hitting them with a mouse anymore. Scrolling by hitting the area between the thumb and the (missing) buttons is just as hard, obviously, as it is the same, nearly invisible width. Using the buttons, oh yeah, like I said, they're missing.

I'm not new to this problem. I had this fixed in the past. I would fix it by changing CSS in one or both of two places: userChrome.css, and theming folders for my system. With the last update of FF the devil scrollbars returned, and since then nothing I have tried works. I'm aware of the legacy setting on userChrome.css and set that to true, with no effect.

There's a thread I could share on the Linux Mint forum where somebody asked about this a year ago, and I am not exaggerating, there were at least 10 different things to try.

I'm running FF 93 on Fedora 35 with a Cinnamon desktop. I don't want to do any more Google searches. Can someone point me, please to the DEFINITIVE answer on how to style the scrollbars, at least in my enivironment, and it would be really nice to not only get an answer, but one that will not become defunct when the next version of FF is released.

I installed Chrome, and scrollbars are usable out of the box.

I'm trying to find a way to change where Firefox 93 stores my temporary internet files away from C Drive to a different drive to reduce lag. I found an article on how to do it using the about:config utility, but I can't do what that article describes — right-clicking in the about:config browser does not give me the option to create a new string; there is no "new" option.

How do I change this in Firefox 93?

Firefox 93.0 64bit Linux Mint 1.0

When I close (X) the window, my session is not restored. I have checked all the settings and verified that they are set correctly. Then, I found that when I tried to quit the program via File menu, it says that I have two windows and three tabs open, yet I only have on window/one tab open. I can not find this other window... What does this mean? Have tried refreshing the app, safe mode, and disabling the extensions that I use.

Thanks!

Hi, Opened firefox today on my desktop pc and the open tabs at the top of FF just stroll to the right/end of my tabs as soon as i put the mouse over them to select one.

try use left arrow or scroll wheel to go to the left and just immediately mouse over to click a particular tab and before can immediately scrolls back to the right/end.

also have noticed when at the right of my open tabs mouse over any tab and whereas before would get the pop up showing the title of the page now just flashs the title up for a fraction of a second not even enought time to read it.

plus now have tried to select from the drop down box in this ask your question dialog box but when click on down arrow to select the appropiate section just flases up the options for a fraction of a section giving no time to select one. Have found only way to select is to use the arrow keys on my keyboard

thanks ian

It seems that Firefox is deleting my old search history. How can I prevent this?

I've already tried the solution described here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1079400 but without luck: e.g. places.history.expiration.transient_current_max_pages seems to be missing

All of the questions I've found on this topic are quite old. Any new ways of fixing it? (or maybe I'm doing something wrong)
