I am still on windows10..Recently have used firefox much less. Today when tried it says that firefox is running and the new try is (3) which is on the task manager. Deleted it and tried again same thing. Removed firefox and tried to reload and it wull not load...says it has problems.. May never use firefox again. [removed phone# from public support forum]

All of the files I try to download fail immediately. Even extensions will not download on firefox. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and checked the download location. Downloads work on other browsers such as Chrome fine but nothing will download on Firefox.

I have used FireFox for years Now I can not download VPN as it requiers W 10+ I can not afford new computer, I am a Disabled Viet Nam Vet/ A MARINE I dd not what all these new apps and maybe Windows is blocking download - HELP

Had to reformat and reinstall my Intel Mac with System 10.4.11. Can't download install dmg from the ftp site because my id and password don't get me into the FTP website.

I want Firefox to open PDFs in browser. I have opt in for two options from setting both are not working.

1. I have choose always ask where to save files and that is not working because it is always saving files in downloads. 2. I have choose Firefox option from save or open files to open files and not save files; it did not work (Firefox downloaded the files not opened it). Then I tried always ask, from always ask menu then I choose open with Firefox and it opened in Firefox but it saved the file.

Please let me know how can this issue be resolved. I do not want to download files and when I do want to download, I want to choose a specific location for each file. I am trying a transition to Firefox from chrome. So, I am very new to these settings.

I have been using firefox sync for a long time to migrate between PC to PC

My firefox sync profile is full of old stuff and I would like to clean up my settings by wiping out my firefox sync settings and starting fresh.

However, before doing that I wish to export all my data/settings/password/cookies/bookmarks and everything, so files on my computer.

Files that I can read in notepad and inspect. See which settings I have in there and decide which settings I want to put back in my new installation.

I know that my profile is stored in

C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\4vdt083m.default-release

However the files and structure in that folder are inscrutable

I would like to have control over the settings of my browser, what they are, to save them and modify them on my own terms.

I would like to export about:config completely to a regular plain text file, edit them and import them back in.

After the automatic installation of the latest update to FireFox, I find I cannot load yahoo.com. I have tried all the suggestions for Hotmail. None of them work: no page loads. The page loads fine in Chrome.

Only with Firefox (default) and Norton 360 My Norton page, the page does not recognize that the Password Manager is already set up and active. The Password Manager button erroneously shows "Set Up", and when pressed the surrounding oval turns blue and nothing else happens - forever! That button should say "Access Vault". Also, he Feature Setup incorrectly shows Password Manager as not being setup when it already is on, active, and functioning in other areas of Norton 360, and surprisingly through the Firefox browser extension NPM button. This apparent MY Norton syncing problem only happens with Firefox, not when using Edge or Chrome.

I have been using Firefox for ages and never had a problem - love it - but now I see the remark: Firefox has ended support for Windows 8 and Vista on my screen at the right top corner. It also will no longer update my computer.

I do have and use Windows 10 - so I don't see what is the problem? I tried to refresh and that didn't work either.

Please help because I like to stay with Firefox but I do need to update and keep my computer secure.

I am not very computer savy so please tell me what to do in simple word.

I had posted my question yesterday and received a response from jscher2000. I sent a reply to the response by email a short while ago, but I wasn't sure it went through. Therefore, at the possible expense of having you receive the reply twice, I have recopied it here:

Thank you for trying to help me download Firefox onto my computer. As per your advice, I first tried shutting down and restarting my computer. That did not work. Then I went onto the link you sent me: https://www. mozilla,org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release . The installation began, but only got up to around 80 - 90%. It stopped at the point where it said Execute: "C:|Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\default-browser-agent.exe" register-task 308046B... (It looks like there might be some more letters and/or numbers after the "B", but I can't see what they are.) I waited a few more hours to see if the installation would continue, but it did not. I then went back to try downloading Firefox in the regular way. First I got a message, "Now installing. Firefox will be ready in just a few moments." Again, installation proceeded to around 80 - 90 %, and then I got a message, "Hmmm. For some reason, we could not install Firefox. Choose OK to start over." Starting over didn't help. How do I import the firefox passwords I saved as csv file from firefox into firefox. I am not importing from a different browser which is the only option offered. I'm importing from the newly created csv file as instructed by firefox.

I've copied the root profile folder from my old machine, created a new profile running Nightly, put the contents of old profile into just created one, and it just worked. Doing the exact same steps with Dev version doesn't work - app refuses to launch after picking imported profile as default one. Could it be because Dev has a lower app version?
