Ever since I switched to Firefox I've noticed many websites with embedded Google Maps don't work properly on Firefox. It got really annoying but I ended up opening those websites on Chrome. I tried troubleshooting by clearing cache, disabling themes, and trying private mode but no dice. After some searching I came across a suggestion to disable WebGL (set webgl.disabled to true in about:config). That fixed the map issue but wondering if there's a solution that allows me to use these websites without disabling WebGL.

Attaching screenshots of the map issue with WebGL enabled and the fix with WebGL disabled.

For the past few weeks I have been unable to log in to reddit from Firefox. I can still log in via chrome, and other browsers but not Firefox. If I use the private window I can log in.This happens on 4 different computers, in 3 different locations and internet providers.

WHAT HAPPENS: click log in pop up window continue with google...(this is different used to go to screen with my username and password.) click already a redditor? log in my username a obscured password appear press log in error message "incorrect username or password"

WHAT I HAVE TRIED: reentering password and username copy and paste username and password from password manager deleting cache in firefox deleting all data deleting cookies reinstalling firefox

Any solution before I have to switch browsers would be appreciated.

When using Firefox to access the Commonwealth Banks online portal, Netbank, the Bills & upcoming payments page will not load. I found this discussion about it - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1753352 - a discussion that is now 2 years old and the solution is to disable fission.autostart. It seems crazy that this issue has not otherwise been solved. It seems users have to disable an important firefox security setting in order to get functionality. What are the dangers of disabling fission? And is there a better solution to this problem yet?

Thanks

I hate twitter, yet all I have to do is touch the search bar and I see the fascist, vile 'X' suggested for me. I've tried everything and there's nothing that seems to get rid of it, like the vile roach that it is. It's like seeing a swastika every time I use the computer. Do I have to see it every day or can I get rid of it? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Not an 'X' fan, Tony

It is absolutely unacceptable that Firefox does not offer the option of saving a file in its original file format. I well understand the advantages of WEBP and AVIF formats for bandwidth conservation, but the fact is that these files are not supported by many software packages, so I want the original file formats.

Setting "image.webp.enabled" to "false" breaks many websites, YouTube most prominently.

Being forced to download a potentially risky extension to the browser in order to do something the browser should support natively (and actually does, because it has to, even if it's disabled by the developers with no way for users to re-enable it) is not an acceptable solution, especially when that means the extension isn't actually saving the original file, be re-converting it back to the original format, which is most often potentially a triply lossy conversion. The original JPEG is a lossy conversion, the server converting it to WEBP on the fly can also be a lossy conversion, and then the extension reconverting it to JPEG is yet another lossy conversion. Just give me the original JPEG.

I'm fine with viewing WEBP images, but if I'm saving an image, I don't want WEBP, I want the original. Why is this issue being forced by the Firefox developers? What deal have they made with the Google devil that they are preventing users from having access to original files?

It can be extremely difficult to figure out what is the latest information on this subject, so I'd appreciate recommendations current to 2023-08 as to the best way to handle this problem.

I know this seems like a dumb question, well he should know what he did to make that happen! The problem is I don't notice it when it occurs, it's after the fact when I look up ans see all those duplicate tabs open or come along and see that they are open after another person was on the computer. I think Alt Home shortcut would dup home tabs, but know not doing that.

All Tabs duplicate themselves sometimes and I don't know why. It must be something I am doing, but haven't figured out what. Also, happens to wife and all she uses is Facebook.

Example I normally have 6 tabs open, something is happening that all of a sudden I have 12 tabs open, they are always a duplicate of the 6 that were already open. Today when she was using FB, there was 18 tabs open, 3 of each.

Does anyone have a clue to what stupid thing we must be doing to make that happen? Is there some special key combination that would make that happen?

I am on FF 116.0.2, but this has been going on for a year or more, so not related to this release. Just something I must be doing or a combination of keys??

'HACKED IN CANADA

They got evernote and dropbox. Evernote had 12 years of pw. They got all my gmails and aol and yahoo

It took 12 days to get my gio** mail Google. THat gmail said my firefox was full and I did not read it all. The Hackers had all my gmails etc.

Today

I noticed that on August 10 my Firefox is now using aol.

When I gave my username at aol I gave username but the pw failed: did the Hackers change it, but I had my phone for aol to use, so they sent codes. Apple did not like the code and announced it junk, which slowed me down. Aol sent another code, only then Apple let me see the code in time. When I returned to aol access to my phone at aol was taken down, and then Apple let me see all the codes. Aol said try a few hours.

Please verify my firefox account is still gei* and gae**bon**@icloud.

I had downloaded my passwords a few days and have left it open on my computer

For weeks now I have been unable to download pdf files that are either on the web or received as an attachment in an email. I get the message "Original file downloaded. Error:Could not contact server". When I look in the downloads in the top right hand side of firefox it shows the name of the document I tried to download and then "failed". When I look in the Windows Explorer download folder it is empty. I had been blaming "Zonealarm NextGen" but I just used Microsoft Edge and had no difficulty downloading both of the files (one from the web and one that was an attachment) that I could not download yesterday using Firefox. I hope there is a simple solution, as I hate to give up using Firefox. Appreciate any help. Thank you.

Hi we are running a new computer--an HP Desktop 12gb ram and a Ryzen 7 processor. We use the Square platform to book appointments and to run the cash register.

Firefox crashes when using the Square website, Square won't load at all and the only solution is to run Firefox in Troubleshooting mode and refresh the entire browser.

This isn't tenable as a business--I need a reliable web browser.

I think Square has a LOT of problems, but since refreshing Firefox fixes it, I'm starting troubleshooting on your end rather that Square.
