Hello,

I use Endeavour OS (Arch Linux-based distribution) and i3 window manager.

I added more than 20 customised devices to the list of device displays at the Responsive Mode. The list is too long.

Check my screenshot.

When you open the list, there is not scrollbar, you can not scroll up (you can see you stop at "iPad" and can not go up).

I have been searching for 3 hours and tried the solutions in the topics I found here, no luck.

Hello all, I am confused about the state of Firefox as a browser lately, and by lately, I mean for the last year or so....

You see, I have been using Firefox for years, and always Loved it, but lately it seems to me that I am constantly being harassed about pointless security concerns from the browser now, to the point where very simple tasks will not complete. As a result, I find myself having to keep the icon for Chrome browser on my desktop to handle some of the numerous things that will not work in Firefox.

  • For one thing, almost half of the sites that I try to sign up for new accounts on get a stupid message saying my password is not secure, or it simply does not work at all.
  • Then, another large amount of websites I try to visit come back with warning pages, telling me it is unsafe to proceed, and forcing me to bypass the warning to go there.
  • Before, although not so much now, it would not allow me to open any chat sessions online, and I had ot go to a different browser in order to chat with support for websites.

My concern is that, whoever is handling Firefox as of late, has lost the ability to maintain a useful, simplistic browser model anymore, and that with every new update, less and less functions actually work. This is not truly a question, so much as a somewhat angered rant about a browser that I USED to love, and am now seriously considering switching away from. Has anyone else noticed that Firefox browser has become more and more frustrating to use, or is it just me??

I was trying to use the inspector in developer tools on the Firefox Developer Edition. It does not really work. It can find the first object you move to and after that as you move the cursor around the website you are trying to locate elements on, it just stops working. I was using version 63, so I updated to the latest version 78.0b9 and the same problem exists. This is consistent across multiple websites. I find this odd because the regular Firefox Developer Tools do not have this problem. I think it is a bug. Can someone please confirm this. I do not think it is possible I am doing something wrong. Somehow I thought the Developer Edition might have even better, more powerful tools, but I am finding it does not even really work. Can anyone help fix it? I would not have the time right now to come up to speed to help the team fix it, myself.

My environment is Mac OS High Sierra.

When expecting a package from UPS I set up a tab with the tracking number and refresh it to get the current status of the package. This worked for years but the last few years whenever said tab is accessed it has either "/TRACKDETAILS" or "/" added to the tracking number in its search textbox, and of course UPS generates an error for it. If I remove the offending characters and search then everything is fine, but if I leave the tab and come back the offending characters are back. It is always one of the two I mentioned, and it will always have one of them. I have no idea if this is a Firefox problem or not but UPS told me to go-away-the-problem-isn't-on-our-end. I'm at my wit's end to solve this, have you any insight to give? Thank you.

P.S. I should add that I have tried disabling all my various add-ons to no avail, it makes no difference.

When you save a name, address, and phone number for Firefox to use to autofill online forms, Firefox automatically adds the +1 country code if the address is in the United States.

I guess someone thought that would be helpful because so many users in the United States don't know the country code because we never use it. The problem is that not only don't we use it, but almost no US online forms are designed to accept it. Virtually every form on any website in the US is set up to expect a TEN DIGIT phone number without any area code. This is especially true of forms for businesses that only do business with customers in the US.

I have rarely found any online form in the US that needs the country code -- exactly the contrary I have found numerous online forms that fail when Firefox attempts to enter a phone number with the +1 area code. Some forms reject the + as a non-numeric character. Other forms reject the entire phone number entry for having too many characters. Probably most common are forms that take the numbers as being a standard 10-digit phone number which the form truncates at just 10 digits (cutting off the last one or two digits that Firefox sends).

The fact that most online forms in the US cannot process a phone number with any country code seems strange considering how many of our web coders are international workers on H2-B visas - but it is absolutely true that most of our online forms cannot process a phone number of more than 10 digits.

I always enter the phone number as just the 10 digits, but Firefox insists on adding the +1, even when I edit the saved address to remove the +1 Firefox will soon add it again.

What happened is when I tried open the same file again, I have two soundtracks playing at the same time. The only way to stop this happening is exit OneDrive and sign in again. Is there a better way of doing it?

Looks like Firefox has a default directory for file selection dialogues and automatically creates the directory when the directory does not exist.

If I can specify a different default directory, this problem will be solved.

I also noticed that I cannot remove "$HOME/Desktop" item in the side bar in file selection dialogue. This is also disturbing. Is there a way to remove it?

Scenario: I have defined two different virtual desktops, using Windows 10's ability to create new desktops.[1] As part of this, I have two different Firefox windows. One of them is located on Desktop A, and the second is on Desktop B.

When I click a link in an external program -- for example, Outlook, or Excel -- it shell executes that link. Firefox is set as my default browser, and so it handles the link. The problem is that when I click a link while looking at Desktop A, the link gets opened by the Firefox window on Desktop B and switches my view there, which takes me away from what I'm working on and forces me to move that tab back to Desktop A manually.

Furthermore, this is not consistent behavior. Sometimes clicking a link will cause Firefox to open a new tab in a window in the same desktop I was looking at when I clicked it. Other times it switches to the other desktop. I have not been able to figure out what determines which Firefox window gets the link.

All I really want is for links to open in the Firefox window that's already open in the same desktop as where I clicked the link. Is there some way to make that happen? I'm not sure if this a problem with Firefox or with how Windows handles shell-executing links. It could be either.

[1] This not the same as a virtual machine. For details, see this overview: https://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-use-multiple-desktops-in-windows-10/

Hi,

I only get gifs to play if I hover the mouse over them. They take a very long time to load, and if I move my mouse off they stop trying to play. I'd like them to just automatically play and not have to baby every single gif I come across.

This problem has been going on for serveral months now, and I've tried deleting cookies, clearning my cash, removing and installing firefox, starting in safe mode, making sure addons were all turned off....

I have autoplay in preferences turned on, so I'm at a loss here on how to fix this.

I'm using Firefox with a mac with OSX El Capitan 10.11.6. I've used it for many years, with no problem accessing streaming radio and archived radio. Now, I'm beginning to not be able to have access. I'm wondering if I need to update to a newer version but am loathe to do so for fear of unintended consequences. Any ideas?

I have been using a dual monitor for about a month now and my secondary monitor use to sit next to the laptop but once I mounted the monitor on the new mount I purchased. I set the screens so that the laptop is the bottom screen and the secondary monitor is the top screen. But if I open Firefox or Google Chrome or Edge on the laptop the browsers hang over onto the bottom of the secondary monitor. I don't know what to do to fix this issue.

So could someone give me a hand trying to fix this issue.

Thank You in advance.
