My script keeps giving me wrong answer. For exemple, a stackoverflow.com url instead of the youtube.com one even if i reload the page.

I have only one `xxxxxx.default-esr` profile.

Screenshot examples: the "google test" is a brand new visited url, and the others were refreshed pages

Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS Firefox 123.0 (64-bit)

The browser deletes cookies when closed. Every time I log in, I need to re-enter passwords (they are saved) on all sites, this is certainly tiring. I read about a similar problem from other users, they had the “Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed” setting enabled, but I didn’t.

I have 2FA completely turned off and login to my Mozilla account works thru the browser window with password and with google single sign on, however when I try and log into my account via the integrated browser account manager thing it does a 2FA step. I can do this but why does it do this if it's TURNED OFF??? and how do we fix this behavior? Oh, and the autofill works on most sites but not on your signin page. Did you guys block password managers from filling in the login fields?

Hi!

FIrefox view I think has a lot of potential. Especially with the release of Ai. It could be a fantastic home page type setup.

Currently though, I would like to use it as a tab manager.

Is there a way to access it via keyboard? If not, can it please receive a keybinding? It seems like a very very small thing to add.

I would like to use my browser in a different way.

I really appreciate any support!

Thank you!

Hi, I am using Linux Zorin and have updated to a later OS but cannot reinstall my stored files because, "/home/garry/.mozilla/firefox/0czvkt76.default-release/lock". Which has confused me, I have used a Deja Dup backup which uses Duplicity files as per the Zorin programme. Duplicate files are stored in a WD ext hard drive. What can I do to recover my files pls? Appreciate! Cheers, Garry

Firefox version: Mozilla Firefox for Linux Mint mint-001 - 1.0 (123.0 64-bit). OS: Linux Mint 21.3.

I have signed into my account and turned on sync. I have also clicked "Sync now". It does not sync. I have seen numerous support requests like this. The usual responses (make sure you are logged in with the right account, sign out and sign in again, restart Firefox, uninstall and reinstall) do not produce the desired result.

From the other questions I have seen, people are as perplexed about this as I am. Some wait days before, by no apparent trigger, sync starts working. Or perhaps it doesn't.

It is very important to me that this should be syncing. I really do not want to wait days on the off-chance that something might happen.

And yes, I am 100% certain that I am logged into the correct Firefox account.

Grateful for help in resolving this.

Hi all.

I have a phone, a tablet, a desktop pc and a server all with Firefox installed. I need to sign in to Firefox on another pc, but I can't remember my password. Not sure why as I'm fairly sure I know what it is and I only signed in on my phone 2 months ago. Although maybe that was a qr code?

First question: the 'password' field in the account manager is 18 asterisks long, does that mean my password is actually 18 characters? Or is this just a generic mask? I have seen it work both ways. A clue to the length might jog my memory.

Second question: assuming it's gone for good I can of course reset it. What's the least damaging way to do this? I can think of backing up my bookmarks and then reuploading them, anything else? Will the reset lose all my passwords for other sites such as forums, is there a way to keep these?

Thanks!

Please provide a native way to change the behaviour of Ctrl-W. I tend to switch between aZerty and qWerty keyboard layouts, as a result I sometimes hit ctrl-W when I would like to ctrl-Z some change. As a result I tend to lose some work when the tab I'm working in closes. It would be nice to be able to rebind some of the default key combinations, or at least disable them.

I found a method description that edits the omni.ja file, but also that this method is unsupported. Moreover, running ubuntu kind of rules this out as an option, as canonical has ruled that firefox is to be installed via snap, in a read-only data store.

When I left-click on text and hold the left mouse button, then right-click, first release the right button, then the left button, a "selection mode" is activated, where the end of the selection follows the mouse pointer despite no button is held. In principle this looks like a useful feature (or it would if the scroll wheel worked in that mode, which it doesn't). But at the same time, the context menu opens when the right button is released. So we trigger two features at once, making both less useful, because they're getting in each other's way.

This frequently happens to me when double clicking on a word and right clicking to open the context menu on it. Accidental overlap of the left and right clicks triggers the selection mode.

Can this behaviour be configured (e.g. to use a custom shortcut) or, if not, be deactivated entirely?

I'm using Firefox 123.0.1 on Linux (openSUSE Tumbleweed).

I'm trying to create a Drag & Drop file feature in my web page following this doc https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/HTML_Drag_and_Drop_API/File_drag_and_drop

The dropHandler function works as expected the first time I tried to drop a file into a "drop area" div, but then does not work anymore. In all subsequent calls, the drop event is triggered but there is no file in

`` event.dataTransfer.items // empty event.dataTransfer.files // empty ```

This behavior is the same in Troubleshoot Mode.

Could we get a totp authenticator for Firefox. I've been using Authy. They used to have a version for all OSs, Linux, Mac, and Windows - as well as Apple and Google phones. They have just discontinued their desktop apps. I was thinking wouldn't it be great if an authenticator was built into Firefox? I envisage it working like a password manager insofar as the authenticator code gets autopopulated.

This could either be built in or offered as an extension. The later may be more palatable lest the corporate overlords label Mozilla as troublesome.

Thank you for your consideration, Joe

Hello, I'm using Firefox as my default browser for a while now (10+ years) and I'm getting frustrated with this issue when using Azure Devops. Comments don't load at all and most pages take a long time to load if they load at all. Various features also take a long time to load or don't work at all (examples include adding a reviewer, referencing a story with #, etc.). Anyone else experience this?

It works well for maybe an hour, and after a couple of days it makes no sense anymore.

Now I'm using firefox containers with a container only for Azure Devops and seems working better but ... Curious thing is that it pops up and asks for credentials periodically every 5 or 10 minutes. Well, unless the boxes are already filled up with the credentials.

Thanks,

Hello, I can't find a tutorial on how to permanently disable automatic updating in Firefox. The latest updates no longer allow the user to disable updates, which is a shame given that Firefox, an alternative to improve browsing, is better rated than Chrome. But now there's this update that gets in the way. If I want an update, I do it manually. But I can't disable it, it always keeps downloading something periodically.

PLEASE RETURN THE OPTION TO DISABLE UPDATES FOREVER.

Video on some websites is choppy after updating to a newer version of Firefox (115.8.0esr). I have attempted to upload a video of the problem but it seems only still images are allowed and this doesn't illustrate the problem. An example website where this occurs is https://www.fiat.it but there are plenty of other examples. It looks as if the playback is jumping forwards and backwards between frames. Strangely Youtube videos seem OK.

Some information which may be of use

OS: OpenSuse Leap 15.5 HW: Dell Precision 7510 with Nvidia Quadro M2000M video card and driver version 550.54.14

I have also noticed that when starting Firefox from the command line I see frequent messages like

Sandbox: attempt to open unexpected file /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cache/index2/size Sandbox: attempt to open unexpected file /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cache/index3/size Sandbox: attempt to open unexpected file /sys/devices/system/cpu/present Sandbox: attempt to open unexpected file /sys/devices/system/cpu Sandbox: unexpected multiple open of file /proc/cpuinfo

Probably not relevant but I included it just in case it is useful

Any help you can offer with debugging would be much appreciated, thanks
