I recently purchased a dell refurbished computer, I set it up went and downloaded fire fox without any trouble. I restarted computer today and it would not accept password I called DiscountcomputerDepot.com help and they helped me to restart and they told me they would have to reinstall windows from computer. So I lost all my programs. when it restarted said would have to update windows. I am disappointed with the background change with updates. The last time I updated Firefox, I had to do a system recovery to revert back. Then another person expressed concerns with a new version taking control over updating. Why don't you have updates that give you options to choose the background color and who decides if and when you update? I will not update Firefox under these conditions. And I don't want to spend half a day trying to change my background back to white, and especially if would have to do that with every update. Like I have to change my printing options when I do updates! I have been so happy with Firefox for the last 20 yrs. or so, until all of this. Please make this more user friendly and optional.

I got a new Acer laptop with windows 11 (64bit). I downloaded FF but when I open it, it just gives a blank page. If I type in an address nothing happens. I have tried reinstalling but nothing seems to work

The default font for a lot of websites has changed and will not accept the settings to change back.

Default font is Times New Roman - size 12. Advanced setting "allow websites to override font" is deselected (disallow)

NOTE: when I was stupid enough to trust Mozilla developers and hit "restart to install" instead of actually shutting down and restarting myself, ONE tab in ONE window had been zoomed in. Now it appears that that zoom has been adopted as default, overriding whatever I put in settings.

The fact that the default font settings don't apply as default is also not the greatest...

if anyone can help me get the how do you want to open up this file page it would be really great because i'm trying to download unity 2019 and it won't let me because it keeps downloading as a firefox file

hello why can there not be a simple way of getting your passwords back after and up grade has lost them why is there not a simple restore button that allows novices like me to just press and reinstall , with out going through the ends of the earth on firefox todo this ? open this file then open that file, lose what has been saved and replace with another file, it is an impossible way to do this for a novice on firefox , with out paying a lot of money to a tech guy that will take a couple of minutes to do but that will take a novice months and not get it done in the end,

Can I revert to the previous version of Firefox pre-this update - I find this GUI very difficult to manage. Everything comes up too large - and websites I'm accustomed to operating on are totally reorganized and have become hard to use.

Bookmarks and passwords have not been affected. Is this site data that may or may not be able to recovered? ... I am semi-proficient in finding folders, files and such....Thanks

Before COVID, I would travel about once a year. I would just copy the profile from my office email machine to my laptop, set the desktop computer to stop downloading emails (the laptop was always set to leave them on the server), and go traveling. When I returned and turned my regular email machine back on, turn the "leave on server" off, and download all the emails to it.

The COVID break from traveling meant that some file formats had changed. When I tried to load the v78 profile from my desktop to v68 on the laptop, I got a lot of errors, and went on to do other chores. Now I've come back to this issue and decided to just load v 102 to my laptop. I want to be able to load all those emails and the address book. Does v 102 read earlier versions of files, and which ones? I have a large volume of emails that I want to load, review, and then archive about 99% of them. I really need to retrieve the address books, get rid of duplicates and dead addresses, and then save about 85% of them a vcards before deleting them from the address book.

It would really help to have a list of the files that changed with each version, so that we can see what files we need to look for.

I'm hoping that 102 will convert all previous formats, and if not, I can have a list so I can migrate these v 68 files to 102 when it imports them.

Running Win10 21H1.

When trying to save PDF's, firefox use to save each file as ex/ document, document(1), document(2) etc... now when trying to auto save it is making me input a name manually and won't automatically add the (#) to each file. How can i fix this?

I had this problem in april, and the fix was given (below) but the link no longer works. Problem started again with a recent update...
