I want to add the Bookmarks to my Browser page. The schematic says I need to press the Toolbar button, but on my latest version of Firefox there is no Toolbar button. Then I have another problem with your instructions. I had to Download something called Filelink. It directed me the Preference section on my menu under More Tools. Accept there is no such thing on my version of Firefox. I have to send a video of about 54 seconds to someone via Thunderbird email, so need to know how I'm going to do it.

Whenever I navigate in a video or go fullscreen on YouTube there's a painfully loud crackle, I use the site frequently so I'd appreciate a fix because it's very painful for my ears.

Hello all, I have three devices, two laptops, and android phone. I have all three synced and running that way no problem other than one thing I have had an open question for since oct 2nd about mass opening synced tabs into active tabs...

Question here is, is there an active sync? like, I want it when I open a new tab on my android, it automatically opens same tab on both laptops, or i open something on a laptop, and the other laptop and android open it as well. same for closing and all that

Im not looking for it to auto complete forms or anything like that, just keep the same tabs opened across all devices

Yo, Linux sysadmin here and been using Firefox forever.  Surprisingly I have this ancient 12 year old System76 laptop that I use for nearly everything (got a newer Lenovo that I been meaning to switch to but no time).

Using Debian 12/13 with Gnome 43.6/X11.  Can't quite figure out this issue though.  Besides being a sysadmin, can have other side jobs/projects going on as well, so can have 5-10 windows open in different workspaces, sometimes with hundreds of tabs all together (big fan of the Auto Tab Discard add-on and about:memory Minimize Memory Usage to keep performance up and resource usage low).

Been noticing this issue for the last few versions where suddenly, after random amount of Firefox uptime (can be after days of perfect performance) my keyboard input aka typing gets extremely laggy, like 30 seconds behind for all keystrokes, except: Ctrl-F instantly brings up the Find in Page bar, and Ctrl-C instantly copies to clipboard.  Ctrl-V, however, 30 seconds lag, Ctrl-A also....  Mouse is fine though and can right-click and paste instantly or use other menu options.  Happens anywhere in Firefox too: in address bar, in the find text box, in the preferences, in my saved passwords, haven't found a place with no lag.

Have searched around for some hours now and only found suggestions to disable accessibility service, but accessibility service has already been disabled for a while now.  Everything else in my Gnome desktop session is running fine.  Restarting Firefox temporarily solves the issue but is highly annoying and interruptive with as much as I have going on sometimes.  Due to timing randomness, starting Firefox without certain add-ons is impossible as I can't spend days at a time without any of them.  Just have to open a text editor and type what I need to in there, then paste with mouse, until I can find a good stopping place to restart Firefox.

Have included most of the info from about:support in the Troubleshooting Information.  Spent quite a bit of time looking at all my modified preferences, nothing popped out but if there's something you think I could include to help, let me know. Thanks

From the main opening screen on the right hand side ( Pic1 ) click on the three horizontal lines Tab. Go down to "Bookmarks" listing (Pic2) Click on " Bookmarks " to open and it gives you Pic3.

At the bottom of Pic3 is " Recent Bookmarks " and it lists ALL the previous bookmarks that have been opened.

Question - I do not want that list displayed, How / Where do you disable it in Firefox ?

Other people who have posted this question have had individuals just saying " Right click " on the bookmark and delete. That not only deletes it from the recent bookmarks list BUT also from the Actual Bookmarks!

So.... not a good idea.

I have spent over an hour searching the internet and the Firefox settings trying to figure it out.

I always receive popup messages when trying to play a youtube video. "Ablockers not allowed". But I haven´t installed any adblocker. I am not sure, but I think this erreor occurs since the last Firefox update (?). Had never before this error. See file attached (in German).

I am using Windows 10.

I have this one page which has "meta refresh" set to 2 minutes, and the page displays my own data from some sensors so it has to be that way.

Anyway, the tab is making the clicking sound whenever it reloads the page. Muting the tab doesn't help.

Is there a way to disable the "click" when the tab reloads in the background?

When I use the Firefox browser and attempt to open my Evernote, after I enter the password, it will not open on my desktop. I nearly always use Firefox (and prefer it); however, I can easily open Evernote if I use Chrome. How do I correct this problem? Thanks, Jan

Firefox seems to be hanging up my computer every once and awhile. Why I think FF, if I am able to kill it with task manager- all is well. Prior to that system is pretrty much locked up, sometimes can't even get task manager running. Also, about twice a week I get a message from FF about oops your Foxnews tab has stopped., please send report. I haven't sent report, just do a reload.

I have run 3 virus checkers, chkdsk and sfc /scannow and all are okay no virus, disk or system files missing.

Thinking of switching browsers for awhile?? Then seems there is a place in profile that has passwords, but I forgot where. Maybe I could download a completely new copy of firefox and keep my profile?? Then again maybe my profile is messed up.

Any suggestions the best way to get a completely new copy of FF??

On Windows 10 current release and now FF 119.0. Down to using Flagfox, Malwarebytes Browser Guard, tab reloader, undo close tab, web threat shield (webroot). Was for years using Noscripts, but stopped it for the last few weeks. Actually I stopped Malwarebytes Browser Guard, web threat shield and noscripts and still got hung up. That only left Flagfox, undo close tab and tab reload running as addons.

The problem is:

1. in Firefox browser with a saved to hard drive file the HTML file is default to Firefox and on double clicking goes into the mask (incomplete missing graphics) 2. click on desired filed nothing happens 3. reset to MS edge as the default browser and functionality is there...

Is there a setting in Firefox that I am not seeing?

On the first load of the day FF partially loads a page then freezes that page. Links are dead and can't type into any text field. This will happen with multiple tabs then suddenly everything starts to work with no further issues. Note: the browser does not freeze.

I saw there was a fix / workaround for pasting text into WhatsApp on desktop in Firefox, but I used to be able to copy and paste images too and that still doesn't work. It works in the AVG secure browser though. It used to work in Chrome, but I don't want to go to Chrome just to send a picture from my desktop. Is there any workaround or fix in Firefox to copy and paste images into WhatsApp on desktop?

After reinstalling Windows 11 Pro on a newly installed SSD my browser resets location and size to default. Nothing listed here in support or found elsewhere through a web search has made a difference. Also, if I leave Firefox open for an extended period of time so that the browser stays where I put it, and keeps the same size, it will crash. As a test, I had Windows resize the browser to the full monitor, closed it, and when I reopened Firefox it filled the monitor. A second time closed and reopened a few minutes later resets back to default location and size. Everything else (bookmarks, extensions, etc.) remains the same. Nothing has been added or removed since the fresh install.

This is the latest version, 23H2, of Windows 11 Pro, which, btw, was the version I was running before the fresh install of Windows 11 Pro.

How can this be corrected?

I was required to make a quick computer switch. I cannot access my old computer. When I opened Firefox on the new one it was without my bookmarks, saved passwords etc. I really need those passwords. And I don't like an orphaned window for Firefox floating around with my info. At best, how do I get it on my new computer. At worst, how does the info get deleted so that it is not available online to anyone?
