In the past, going to Wikipedia in Firefox automatically opened a search box to type in a search term. However, with the recently updated Wikipedia interface, Firefox no long opens a search box, so the user must: (a) stop typing (b) grab a mouse (c) click on the magnifying glass icon just to enter a search term. To demonstrate this, please go to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page and you will see there is no search box and you have to manually open the search box.

However, this works perfectly in Chrome. Going to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page automatically opens a search field to easily type into.

Will Firefox be updated to allow immediate access to search field in Wiki? Please see attached .png file and thank you for listening! CW

I just downloaded Firefox and uninstalled Microsoft edge and now new tabs are completely black except the top bar and I can search anything in the top bar. I’m afraid something broke when Microsoft Edge was removed.

When using Google Chrome, I can click on a telephone link and it brings up a dialog box asking if I want to make a call using my mobile phone.

Is this possibly with Firefox?

When I search on the homepage, as soon as I start typing my search instantly gets transferred to the address bar. It's horrible to work with. I can't find anything that stops this in forums or anywhere

Hello all, I was wondering if any one else is getting these old file virus alerts "Trojan Horse Full Path: c:\program files\mozilla firefox\00029458.tmp" I have been getting alerts every two or three days from Norton "NIS" with different temporary file numbers that end up in this folder/directory. These are some type of Media file that are 7 years old with lots of users. They seam to popup when I read my yahoo news feed. I browse in private mode, so I don't save cash or searches, I don't use a VPN either so maybe someone is trying to track me or Norton is being over protective because these don't look to be harmful because of so many users but I am no expert.

Firefox opens minimized and when I click the maximize it moves the window the first time and then the second time is when i get the full screen. If I open in troubleshooter mode, it opens in full screen.

2023 Jan 23rd 5:57pm cst -- Feature Request: We the users want Firefox to Add an Option to "generate a brand new securely generated password -- at the point of filling-in-the-blanks to Create New Login. This has been an issue for years now (since at least May of 2020). Do we need to start a petition? If yes, how can we initiate a petition?

Like I said, Firefox takes 6 seconds to open at startup. After that, it blinks with delays while in a tab of any kind. I've been an adamant Firefox user and proponent for years, but after spending hours upon hours trying to determine and fix the problem with absolutely no success, I've given up and have moved to Chrome. I'm further discouraged with the only way to report a solid problem is to open a topic for "discussion". I am a seasoned technical computer and system engineer with mores years experience in IT than most people's age reading this. This is not a discussion, it is a report of a failure in Firefox. For those that are about to write and ask if I restarted it in safe mode, ran the troubleshooter, uninstalled it and reinstalled it, started it with a new profile, removed any extensions installed, removed themes, add ons and any other possibly interfering software, restarted my PC (Windows 11), removed cache/cookies/ and whatever, checked internals, checked hardware, checked the OS, check for corrupt or incomplete Visual C++ software or install, checked for malware, disabled virus software, checked for conflicts with your Internet security software, the answer is yes.... many times over.

I just moved to Colorado. Every time I search for a "store near me" it give me locations for someplace in the San Francisco Bay area. I am over 1,000 miles from there. How do I get my Firefox browser to realize that I am living in Thornton, Colorado?

I no longer can log into Walgreens but I can on Edge (who I HATE) I've tried the following: 1. Close Firefox and reopen it. 2. Tried reboot my computer 3. Cleared cookies. 4. Clear cache. WALGREENS.COM: I get a red pop up that states "We are sorry for the inconvenience, but this service is currently unavailable.

MICHAELS.COM: (firefox has the password saved) when I use that login, it just brings me back to the Michaels home page but I am not logged in. I would really prefer to stay with Firefox and I have used it for years (as well as Thunderbird) but it is really insane that I have to go to Edge every week to place orders.

A few months ago I moved to a different state. When I access maps.google.com, Firefox centers the map on my old home.

I've tried clearing all cookies and site data, which didn't do anything. But if I clear cookies and site data AND set my PC's permissions to deny location access to that site, restarting the browser now centers the map on my actual location. HOWEVER, once I re-allow the location sharing permission for the site, it centers the map back on my hold home.

This problem does not exist on Chrome or Edge. I can run through the above process and it never takes me to my old home. I'm wondering where Firefox is pulling the location data from, and why it's different on other browsers.

I can't access PCH. This is the message I get: Access Denied You don't have permission to access "http://promo.pch.com/117/promo?" on this server.
