Why does my tool bar disappear after typing in website in search bar? Book marks appear when I open a new window, however as soon as I type something in the search bar or click on a website the book marks disappear. I have to open a new window for them to reappear again. I didn't change any settings, it happened on it's own. Firefox has been my default browser for longer than I can remember. Over the years, I have maintained a significant bookmark file for work. I recently purchased a new computer, and my zero bookmarks from the new computer have replaced all of the bookmarks that I had in my old browser. This is a bookmark file that has successfully followed me through multiple computers and even my ios devices. And now it seems to be completely gone. I've looked at the places.sqlite files, and the largest one is 20MB and is in my current default profile, but it is dated today. That makes no sense because I do not have any bookmarks on this older computer, and my new computer doesn't have any either. The bookmarks have also been completely deleted from my iPad, but miraculously are still on my iPhone (evidently I had signed out of Firefox for iPhone at some point so they do exist somewhere.) The thought of trying to rebuild my bookmarks is nauseating. My only thought is to sign out of the browser on all devices, then sign back in and sync on the phone. Would that repopulate the main file with what's on my phone? Any other ideas?

When I use the Bookmark wizard to import my bookmarks from Opera to Firefox, only my bookmarks bar is transfered. That's only ~350 of my thousands of bookmarks. How do I get the rest of them to import?

Hi, I just created a bunch of folders for my long list of bookmarks. However, when I click on Bookmarks all I see is the same long, unorganized list instead of those folders. How can I rectify this?

I have a PC operating on Win 11. just recently upgraded to the latest version of Firefox and can't find my bookmarks. not finding the help areas very helpful. how do I get them back and installed on left side of screen as I did in old version?

I started Firefox and left the room. When I returned it asked me if I wanted to "Refresh" Firefox. I said yes. Now I have lost my bookmarks, history, etc. I have a profile from a backup. But learned I can't just move it into "Profiles" directory.' I've tried removing/reinstalling Firefox, etc. etc. As it is now, I have a Firefox that tries to start, but says "your profile can't be loaded." How do I reinstall my backups and history, etc.? I have RTFM, but it just dug me in deeper.

I just built a new computer with all new parts and Windows 11. The old one is disassembled. I realized afterwards that I had forgotten to save the bookmarks and passwords into the formats that make importing easy. So I have the original hard drive where Firefox was located on (with Windows 10). Is there a way to copy/paste/import any folders and/or files from the original hard drive to the one on the new computer to transfer the bookmarks and/or passwords?

fire fox usually has one row of frequently visited /fav web sites come up on the home page, but it has stopped doing this and even when i try and add them manually it wont accept them, the same when i try and boo marl a web page

What has happened to all of my Task Bar / Tool Bar? As of today, Sunday Nov. 26th, everything is gone. In addition the browser itself looks "different" some how.

Hello wonderful Mozilla Firefox,

Could you please educate me on how I may change the default view of my bookmarks. I feel like it did not used to default to the "other bookmarks" in the "Manage Bookmarks" library window (ctrl+shift+o). I find it a bit annoying that it defaults all the way to the very last folder in my whole library. How to fix this? I tried to delete this folder but that is not possible. I do not need to delete, I just want for my view to default to either the very top, or possibly to remember its last accessed folder/location. Is this possible?
