I-Firefox Isithangami Sokwesekwa

Hi guys. I'm on a Lenovo laptop, using Windows 11. Was NOT experiencing this issue (or any other issues) till today. That is, I've been able to download PDFs attached to Yahoo email for years, including recently (till today).

Trying to get Firefox to be DEFAULT instead of MS Edge, I changed some 'Apps associated with File Types', selecting Firefox as default for all file types that seemed appropriate, BUT, this issue then began.

Feeling I went too far, and should go step at a time, I reset All File Type settings back to default (MS recommended settings). Still can't open attached PDFs. I tried an Excel attachment and it opened fine.

Error I get is: "Firefox Can’t Open This Page To protect your security, dl-mail.ymail.com will not allow Firefox to display the page if another site has embedded it. To see this page, you need to open it in a new window."

The emails I used to recreate the error, were sending an email to myself, and attaching a PDF.

Other things I tried: I used Firefox with gmail email and the PDF attachment downloaded fine. I used MS Edge with Yahoo email and PDF attachment downloaded fine. Also, btw, CAN view a PDF attachment with Yahoo email. Just now download.

I CAN "open it in a new window" as the error suggests, than print to PDF, but don't want to live the rest of my life doing that.

Updated Firefox to 102.0 Youtube TV stopped working. (Macbook user) I am using the web version of Youtube TV through Firefox. Youtube TV starts, allows me to select channels but then i get the never ending spinning wheel. I have disabled ad blockers, cleared the cache. Restarted Firefox, Restarted Macbook Pro. Restarted router and modem. Youtube TV is playing fine using Safari which uses the same ad blocking software.

My question: What have I overlooked? Youtube TV was working fine prior to the Firefox 102.0 update.

I have no problems with chrome but when I pull up some of the websites that have no problem loading up in chrome on firefox I get those half-cut codeblocks, not sure how to fix this, any advice would be deeply appreciated!

It seems that since the last update none of the available screen schemes / contrast schemes allow for me to see the input mask boxes. (Of course today with this support page there is an exception but....) I have wasted hours trying to read and adjust and end with only an attitude. HELP

Firefox is set as my default email app in W10 - pls see uploaded image. I have tried to change it by using the options at the bottom of that default app screen. I use Sky Yahoo mail but I cannot change from Firefox. I want to set Sky Yahoo as my default email for W10.

Any help for this old novice much appreciated.

I am using the latest Firefox version 102.0 and I have igHome set as my home page. Yesterday the Google Calendar Gadget would no longer display the calendar but would display this message:

Firefox Can’t Open This Page To protect your security, accountsgooglecom will not allow Firefox to display the page if another site has embedded it. To see this page, you need to open it in a new window.

If I click on the “Open Site in New Window” button it does open the calendar. (See attached screenshot.) I have tried login out and back into igHome and my Google account but it doesn’t fix the issue. This is happening on both my laptop and desktop computers running Windows 10 Home. All Windows updates are up to date. I opened Firefox in Troubleshooting Mode and the calendar still does not show. When I use the Google Chrome browser with the same igHome home page the Calendar works fine. Is this something Firefox can fix, or do I need to contact Google?

I am unable to use the screenshot feature since the update to 102.0 and I don't know why. So far it always worked. I have updated the screenshot item via customizing the toolbar, still it does not respond.

Have you got a solution that works?

Greetings, I've checked a few articles in Firefox to help with my question, but none of them are helping. (Here's the main article: http://example.com.) Here's the situation. Say I go to a website's Contact page and click the button to contact someone, a window appears and asks me what app I want to use to open the email. Gmail is my default email, and Firefox is my default browser, and I use Windows 10. When I open the window of options (see attached screenshot) to open the email, and I then click "Choose Other Application" (other than Firefox), I don't see the Gmail app anywhere. I then followed the directions in that link above to check my Windows settings, per its suggestion, which I did ... but in those settings, too, I got to a point where the directions no longer matched what I'm seeing on my screen. I didn't see the Gmail app anywhere. Could you let me know in simple layperson's terms how to open Gmail links in Firefox? I don't have a PhD in computer science, so please keep it very simple. i get 'server not found' and 'try again' window when trying to access sites and even within sites if i manage to get on - after several 'try again' clicks

could this be related to recently installed fibre optics or do i have a virus - my anti-virus protection is bitdefenders

When I open a new tab, I'd like Firefox to show pages that I've saved to Pocket.

I have selected Settings >> Home >> Firefox Home Content >> Recent Activity >> "Pages Saved to Pocket".

This worked pretty well! So well that I upgraded to Pocket premium! Unfortunately, I no longer see any of the pages I've saved to pocket.

How can I get my saved pages back? Thanks!

Hi there,

I would like the option "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" to be enabled, but it appears that Firefox is actively undoing this change. If I go into settings and check this box, it will appear to be successful and remain checked until that session is over, but if I close & restart, the box is always unchecked after restarting. Is this a bug in the build of Firefox I'm running (102), or is this behavior intended?

I reset the laptop and lost the bookmarks. It originally reset to Edge but I downloaded Firefox. I have gone to the square of horizontal lines, clicked on Bookmarks, Manage Bookmarks, Import and Backup, Restore. The only date that shows is today's date. What else can I try?

I have been checking all the help threads and I never did see an answer that works. I set my homepage to be msn.com and now it won't come up at all. I've cleared cached, history and everything else. I've done malware searches via various programs, including Malwarebytes and nothing comes up. I tried reloading the page as my home page using the suggestion of dragging it to the home icon as well as setting it in 'settings'. I even reloaded the firefox program. I looked at about:config as suggested. I couldn't figure out where to right-click to reset it as suggested, however I did do screen shot of the current settings and nothing stands out to me. I don't seem to be having this home page problem and, as mentioned, I haven't seen an effective fix for the problem except to use Chrome as an alternative.

Do you have a fix that I missed?

Why do I get " 403 - Forbidden: Access is denied. You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied." when I try an access doddrv.com?

When using 365 Outlook, I was sending message to Notes 365. It was working yesterday, but is failing today. I get the message noted below:

"We're sorry. We couldn't fetch your notebook. Please try again later. Details Error: The operation is insecure.Date: 2022-06-30T20:50:27.878ZSession ID: 0b74e553-3b1a-4c21-be65-b0f493b11951"

I was able to Edge to get it to work - but want to use Mozzilla...
