When I left-click on text and hold the left mouse button, then right-click, first release the right button, then the left button, a "selection mode" is activated, where the end of the selection follows the mouse pointer despite no button is held. In principle this looks like a useful feature (or it would if the scroll wheel worked in that mode, which it doesn't). But at the same time, the context menu opens when the right button is released. So we trigger two features at once, making both less useful, because they're getting in each other's way.

This frequently happens to me when double clicking on a word and right clicking to open the context menu on it. Accidental overlap of the left and right clicks triggers the selection mode.

Can this behaviour be configured (e.g. to use a custom shortcut) or, if not, be deactivated entirely?

I'm using Firefox 123.0.1 on Linux (openSUSE Tumbleweed).

Hi, my proxy configuration settings got selected to No proxy and I'm unable to update it to auto proxy/manual proxy configuration settings as you can see in the below image, the pop got disabled and unable to select other options.

Steps to replicate 1.open fire fox browser 2.click on settings 3.select general >> Network settings 4.Click on settings

Actual result: unable to edit the proxy configuration settings got selected to no proxy and editing is disabled

Expected result: should allow user to select the below configuration options i. Auto detect proxy settings for this network ii.use system proxy settings iii.Manual proxy configuration

It hard to explain what I mean so I recorded video, link is below. I want Firefox to behaves the same as Chrome. So as you can see, when I use address field for quick search then pop-up appears with search results. And I click on these search results with middle mouse button. But on Chrome it works normally and on Firefox not. I am redirected to just opened tab what is really annoying. I must go back, input the same if I want open several result. How to change this behaviour to achieve the same what I have in Chrome?

Also it’s exactly the same when it comes to bookmarked pages in a folder on the bookmark bar. When we click folder with bookmarks we have dropdown menu with bookmarked web pages from this folder. And when I click something with middle mouse button then page opens in new tab but this dropdown menu disappears, and again I must click folder when I want open more sites. In chrome it doesn’t. How to set it the same for this?

I am looking for the widget.windows.window_occlusion_tracking.enabled preference setting on Linux. I was wondering if this setting was available on Linux? I have seen it on Windows. I was also wondering when this setting was introduced and if it is still active in the latest version of Firefox.

Preferences in user.js are added permanently to prefs.js and persist even after user.js is deleted. What if you want to specify preferences in a file, just like with user.js, but you don't want them to be made permanent? In other words, so that when the file is deleted, the prefs will be forgotten. Is there any way to do this?

Is there a way to skip the wait for the "Accept the Risk and Continue" button to appear? I assemble and set up copiers for a living. Every single one of them has a self-signed certificate. I see this "Potential security risk ahead" screen dozens of times a day because of this. I understand why I'm seeing it. I understand the importance of a security warning like that. What I would like to do is skip the delay between when you click on advanced and the "Accept risk and continue" button becoming available to be clicked on. That or some way to disable that security warning specifically for self-signed certificates would be ideal.

When I open a new browser and start to type www in the URL firefox auto suggests youtube.com instead of google.com. This is something that has just started with the new update. My previous version auto suggested google.com when I typed www into the URL. How do I get that back? I don't want to turn off the suggestion feature I just want it to default to google.

Yes, I know addons exist for it but many work places don't allow installing addons, security wise they can be a concern and these addons have poor UI/UX. I am genuinely considering using Edge over Firefox due to them having better tab groups which I never though I would say. Please implement a simple tab folder, literally just what current Edge has. It is a very useful basic feature and I would really love to have it included in my favorite browser I have been using for over a decade. Thank you.

Can anyone help me out and others on this matter? several months ago appears FB decided to screw everyone over by arbitrarily forcing auto refresh. If you're reading something long and or have to step away for a moment it is gone.

Some have posted for chrome they have an extension that stopped it. The only one on FF does not work. I tried it, does nothing at all. Time for FF to fix this issues allowing you to turn it on or off at my will.

Current version of Firefox on Windows 11. Menu bar hidden when Firefox started. I have tried every setting suggested and understand how to turn it on, but next time I start Firefox, menu bar is hidden again. Reinstalling Firefox -- no joy. Restarting in safe mode -- no joy. Help!

I've been encountering a persistent error with Firefox, and I'm hoping someone here might have a solution. Whenever I try to open Firefox, I keep getting an error message that says "Secure Connection Failed" for certain websites. It's really frustrating because it's preventing me from accessing important sites. I've tried clearing my cache and cookies, but the issue persists. As the subject says, i cannot remove the up and down arrows from forms that have a numerical input even though autofill/history options are cleared and disabled. I've even tried deleting cookies, cache, site data and so on, to no avail. I've also tried a clean terminal with no extensions installed and i have the same issue. Other browsers do not have this issue on the exact same form. I am at a loss, any assistance would be appreciated.

Am running on linux with KDE. When I press the software shutdown button in KDE, and reboot, the tabs in firefox remain, even though I disabled that from happening in settings.

As the title says when I am using the video player on Coursera website I am not able to hide the control bar while on fullscreen mode (even if I don t move my mouse for more than 15 seconds). I ve attached a screenshot with the control bar being displayed. (also the captions are overlapping with that control bar) I ve also tried different ways of opening the fullscreen mode (click on the "Full Screen" button or by pressing 'F'). I don t have this problem on websites like YouTube.

I noticed that after the recent updates, the pop-up notification for blocked pop-ups has changed from yellow to white.. This makes it very difficult to see and I almost missed it. Is there a way to revert this change using userChrome.css?

I don't understand why this unnecessary change was made. I already have my own userChrome style for the entire Firefox because it was frustrating to constantly change it back after each update.

I would appreciate any information on how to revert this change.

My extension is greyed out in the Extensions drop down. I have redeployed it in the Mozilla Developer Hub but to no effect. It has been down for a couple of days. What could be the reason behind it and how can I fix it?

Wishing to view my own html file in my Ubuntu Linux system I pressed the Alt key which I thought would give me a "File" menu. I could not see one. How do I get it?
