I use userChrome.css and userContent.css to (1) turn unvisited links bright red, and (2) turn visited links bright purple, and (3) add underlines to all links.

This works well on light backgrounds, makes links easy to see and easy to distinguish from other text, but makes them harder to see on pages with dark backgrounds.

Is there a way to vary the link color to improve contrast? I can't use the default colors because most sites use blue links which are hard to distinguish from black text.

hi, i just recently installed latest version of linux on a windows 10 pc but after it installed i opened firefox to update it bu when i search update in firefox settings it it said updates disabled by your system administrator please write down the steps to solve it as i have already read out many of mozilla's and linux's articles to solve it but i cannot understand any article please help me

I am desperatly trying to play a youtube video, the on hover preview plays, but the video wont. I turned hardware acceleration of and tested in safe mode. I am using Firefox version 115.0.3 from the AUR. pls help

I accidentally hid the menu bar and toolbars (with an accidental keyboard shortcut, I think), and when I re-enabled them, now the tab bar is above the location bar instead of right above the content windows. How do I move it back? I can't find the "browser.tabs.onTop" setting in about:config, or any check box in the View menu, settings, etc.

I'm using Firefox 119.0.1 on Ubuntu Linux.

Earlier today (well, it's yesterday now) Firefox was updated to 116 and since then it won't download any images or other files from anywhere. I've set a default download directory and when I click "Save image as...", that image should appear in the preset directory but it doesn't. I have two extensions for downloading images and they work just fine, only the default function of firefox doesn't work. Here's a short video showing the problem:

I tried downgrading Firefox to 115.0.3 but that didn't fix the problem and I'm out of ideas how to fix it. I'm 100% sure it's a firefox problem bc I tried saving images with Opera and Chromium and there was not a single problem with that task in either of these browsers.

I run a local web server from my desktop PC. As the person running it, I access it only from my desktop PC, and only my account has a password. (All other accounts must be created by me, and have very limited access.) When I log in, Firefox whinges that it's not running on https, which is not my fault, as I didn't write this server. I cannot change servers. How can I prevent Firefox whinging about my lack of a secure (despite being local only) connection?

The settings page just shows a number, but no units as on my laptop's default font settings page. I think that they are pixels, but I'm not sure. I want to set my font sizes in points, so that the text will appear the same size on my laptop's screen as on my much larger external monitor.

Until recently, this extension had worked well on YouTube, where downloading videos has usually worked for years without an issue.

However over the past month or so, when using the Linux system, it's become impossible to download any video from YouTube, without an error popping up after a couple of seconds.This occurs whatever choice of aspect for a video is available, be it in mp4 or mkv format. I should emphasize that this issue only seems to occur on YouTube. Other unrelated sites that host video-sharing still work with Linux.

In Windows 10, Video DownloadHelper with YouTube still seems to be working as normal. So any ideas why I can no longer use this extension with Linux and YouTube?

When browning some site will cause a Firefox to freeze, all UI stops working, if I try and reload the page nothing will load and if I try and close and reopen Firefox I get a zombie process that last for about a minute. Obviously this is with no ad dons or hardware acceleration and nothing is listed at about:crashes. The only useful tip I have comes from the command prompt. I'm developing a PWA website that relies heavily on the sqlite.org wasm libraries and origin private file system (OPFS). On firefox-dev 116.0b8 my website at app.kumaflash.com stopped being able to read the database it had been successfully using for months prior to that. I've also asked on the sqlite.org forum here: https://sqlite.org/forum/forumpost/3bb8b83c45 but haven't found any solutions yet.

Additionally I can't debug because the firefox debugger crashes whenever I try to inspect my app. The debugger crashes on firefox-dev and release versions on every computer I've tried (with this app only). The chromium debugger works but the error doesn't happen there.

Any ideas on what I should try?

Hello, after updating Firefox to v.119 a couple of issues have developed that I can’t seem to resolve.

First of all the Firefox logo has disappeared from my home page. To show what I mean here are some screenshots: The 1st one shows what I see when I open the browser as normal - as can be seen I have several extensions normally in use so the 2nd image shows Firefox opened in ‘Troubleshoot’ mode.

Both these two were taken with the Privacy & Security settings set to ’Strict‘, the 3rd image shows ‘Troubleshoot ’mode with Privacy & Security set to ‘Standard’. ~~~ Now onto the subject of fonts; I’ve done some searching around and even with the Privacy & Security settings customized to ignore fingerprinting, Firefox still ignores my font-setting preference, which is FreeSerif, usually at 14 or 16pt size. Despite me unchecking the setting to allow websites to use their own fonts I cannot get any page to load using my preferred font. This causes me problems as I suffer from a particular type of astigmatism which makes san-serif fonts difficult to read.

My Wife and I are both 75 years old and have huge problems coping with modern computer technology. We have 3 computers with Ubuntu and Firefox. We find that we are able to successfully connect with most of our accounts. With some accounts like Royal Bank, Nextdoor, Koodo, TD Bank, Canadian Government we get in but only get a blank page and cannot go further. Accounts have told us the problem is Firefox and that we need to change to either Chrome or Edge. We have been with Ubuntu and Firefox since 2006, love both and do not want to change.

Sometimes I get notifications from Firefox which send me to "usefulcontentsite.com" (don't click this, might be harmful!) and when I click them, uBlock Origin blocks them. So I'm pretty certain that is spam (or worse). However, I could never attribute this to any page or maybe some harmful extension I have installed. Also, I mostly block site's requests for notifications.

Here is the list of installed add-ons: - ClearURLs (recommended by Mozilla) - Firefox Multi-Account Containers (official extension) - KeePassXC-Browser - uBlock Origin (recommended by Mozilla) - User-Agent Switcher and Manager (recommended by Mozilla)

So imo nothing exotic here.

Does anyone here have a clue where those notifications might come from?

Firefox on my Alcatel phone misses chunks of text out from every webpage, Google search etc.

I tried opera mini, that works fine.

Every time firefox has updated this year it prevents me from signing into my Navy federal credit union account. I get the following error message; Access Denied You don't have permission to access "http://signon.navyfederal.org/siteminderagent/forms/mfa.fcc" on this server.

I have had to turn off the ad blockers in the past and delete all the history including sign ins to get it to work again. This update I again went through all of that and also tried turning off every extension, turning off firefox tracking blocker and even reset the network setting to no proxy. Nothing works. Will I have to go back to using the google spyware browser just so I can do my banking? Or can this problem finally be fixed? If firefox worked with NFCU forten years prior without any difficulty I don't know why it cant be fixed.
