I first downloaded Firefox Syn to my iPhone a couple of years ago and now I have an iPad and I'm trying to set it up for that I remembered why I never managed to set it up on my phone. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE! I just go round and round in this idiotic circle for pairing a device. First it took a long time to just get my iPad to give me the option of entering the numbers from my laptop, for the longest time all I could get it to do was give me another set of numbers to enter on my laptop (useless since that same page on my laptop was giving me numbers to enter on my iPad. Huh?) After I finally managed to get my iPad to allow me to enter the pairing numbers from my laptop, it then asks for the recovery key. THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND! I have no "manage account" option under preferences on my laptop. All I have on my Mac under Firefox/Preferences/Sync is set up or pair a device. When I set up it asks me "create an account" or "have an account". Every time I chose have an account it takes me back to pair a device. I tried "create an account" but when I entered my email address it tells me I already have an account (I have a password as well). I'm just going round and round in circles and this is just the MOST IDIOTIC SET UP EVER. And judging by the hours I've spent trawling all the help forums and myriad postings on this I'm not the only one in this position.

How the hell do I get my recovery key?

How on earth do I get to the "manage accounts" option?

FYI I have the same problem with my iPhone. The only option I have there is "send me instructions" or "I have a sync account". When I select that I have an account it just gives me the 3 sets of numbers to enter on my other device and tells me to select "add a device" on the other device. But on the other device (my Mac) I I can't get past pair a device. There is no add a device option. There is no manage accounts option. Nothing but this endless circular hell that has me wanting to smash something. I'm not dumb, I'm relatively tech savvy, but I'm stumped.

I'm on a Mac OS X, Firefox 27. Both iPhone and iPad are on iOS7. Using Firefox Virtual Browser on the iPad, Firefox Home on the iPhone.

The bookmarks sync does not sync Icons. it's been YEARS since I last time used Firefox and I went to use Google chrome because they support syncing bookmarks icons but Firefox still doesn't. Microsoft's new Chromium based Edge browser also supports syncing bookmarks icons. Firefox needs this option too. it's very hard to identify my bookmarks because the are a lot.

I am the author of a few small addons on the Addons website, (namely Styling) and I didn't think that I would lose access to these by deleting my Firefox account. I have regretted my decision to delete my account, because I have put a lot of time and effort developing these addons, and I can't login anymore with my deleted account :(

The addons are still on the Addons website, so is there some hope that I can reclaim my addons with a new account, or log in to the Addons website through some other method?

Your instructions to set up Firefox Sync are faulty.

Your "Note" says that "If you don't see a Sync section in the menu, you are signed in to the old version of Sync." Then there is a link entitled "How to update to the new Firefox Sync." I clicked this link and found a statement to upgrade to the latest version of Firefox. Well, I already have the latest version of Firefox, 33.0.1 on my Windows 8.1, 64-bit laptop. So what gives? Will you PLEASE let me know how I can sync all of my bookmarks and home page to my new Surface Pro 3. I've already downloaded and installed the same version of Firefox on the Surface Pro 3. I have used Firefox on several computers for years. Suddenly on one of the computers I am being harassed to verify my email to activate something called a Firefox Account. I do not remember asking for this account, or entering any information to get one. I don't want to sync anything, I just want a browser. I have found no way to get rid of this thing, I have refused to verify my email, and it will not go away, It also took three resets of a password and retrieval of a username to get this far to be able to ask a question. In my experience uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox is no help because all of its previous settings and setup come back with any reinstall. If anyone would be so kind, please tell me 1. How to get rid of this Firefox Account nonsense and 2. Is there a way to uninstall Firefox so that ALL of it including settings, add-ons, plugins, preferences -- EVERYTHIG is eliminated? I like Firefox, but not being able to get any help from Mozilla is very frustrating. Thank you in advance. R.

I don't know why - possibly after a firefox update to 49.0.2? But Firefox on Windows 10 is no longer saving or using my saved passwords. When I try to display saved logins, there are none showing. However, I do have intact key3.db and logins.json files, and I can see in logins.json that there are lots of logins stored in there. So I'm sure the data are there, but just not being read.

Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't help. Refresh didn't help. Synch seems to connect, but doesn't help. Isn't there some command to force the browser to read the saved logins file?

Due to problems with upgrading my Ubuntu to 18.04, I've been forced to use a LIVE DVD for the last 8 months instead of a properly installed Ubuntu. This LIVE DVD crashes or drops out from time to time so each time this happens I have to re-sync the Firefox it brings up. This re-sync requires a verification code to be sent by email, but because that email has to go through my Google filtering process, it usually takes longer than the code's 5 minute validity before I receive it. When I do finally get it and enter the received code back in Firefox, I'm told the code is invalid or expired. This is because 5 minutes validity is just too short a time for my setup. If it were 10 minutes, that would allow me to go into Gmail -> Settings -> Accounts & Import -> Check email from other accounts -> and then order Gmail to perform a special immediate mailcheck on my selected account. As a slow elderly old codger myself, I find it too hard to do all this within 5 minutes. Why can't we make it 10 mins?

Hello, I always have Sync turned on, on my Laptop (PC) and my iPhone. When I reinstalled Firefox, everything was synced except my bookmarks. I have all my bookmarks on my iPhone. How do I get my bookmarks back on my Laptop? Can I somehow export my bookmarks on my iPhone, which has Firefox mobile, and email them to myself on my Laptop? Firefox sync on mobile does not work.

I have two PCs with sync configured and one android device. I can see that there is no problem with synchronizing data between PCs, but I cannot see my data on android device.

I have on both PCs ff 30 and new sync configured (I upgraded from old sync). I also tried to delete my old sync account, create a new one with same email and then configure.

I also signed up on android device to my sync account. The problem is that I cannot choose data which should be synced (positions are grey - disabled). And I don't see data from pc on android. On PC I syncrhonize bookmarks, passwords, and settings. On Android I want to syncrhonize passwords and bookmarks. What should I do to make this work?

In July, I first installed Sync on my PC (Windows 7), my smartphone and my tablet (both Android 4.2.2). It worked perfectly, with all bookmarks, history and tabs synchronized, and proved useful during holidays as I was only left with my Android devices.

I haven't been using Firefox much with my Android devices lately, but yesterday, when I checked their bookmarks, I realized they were out of sync with my PC's bookmarks.

I have been through all the tips offered on this site (unlinking, updating, re-linking...), with limited success : the history of the various devices in synchronized, but NOT the bookmarks.

I tried to create a new account with a new email address, but I am still waiting to receive the email for verification (although the email address works fine). Therefore I have deleted my 'old' account and re-created a new one, with the same email address.

Any clue as to how to synchronize the bookmarks?

Firefox wasn't playing any videos on the bbc website so I uninstalled and reinstalled it and now I'm not able to sign into my account to sync my settings. Also its no displaying the Mozilla pages correctly I just get text versions of the pages. I get the following error message when trying to sign in

"The owner of accounts.firefox.com has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website.

This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to specify that Firefox only connect to it securely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate."

I am using windows 10 insider preview build 14271.rs1_release.160218-2310 and the latest version of firefox. I have also tried the latest beta and the developers edition all with the same error. I also get a message telling me I'm not connected to the internet which clearly I am as I'm using edge to post this here.
