Hi! I've searched this question but can't seem to find a "guide". I've been using Thunderbird on my PC/Laptop for at least a decade. I have a "Profile" folder but most of my mail is stored in a separate folder on my C: drive. It appears under "Local Folders" in Thunderbird. I don't know too much about Macs but just got a Macbook Pro. I've installed thunderbird and configured it to my email servers. I can get new email and now I'm at the point where I'd like to get the rest of my folders, address books, add-ons, etc. from my Laptop to my new Mac and it's a bit overwhelming. I wasn't able to export/import my address book, I've placed the .mab files in the new profile on the mac and they're not appearing and I can't help but to think that I'm missing a lot of other steps as well. I'd almost like to start over from scratch on the new Mac since my old install has been moved several times from pc to pc to laptop, etc. Any suggestions are most welcome! Thanks so much for your help in advance. PS I also had two accounts appearing on my Mac. . nyj****.net and nyj****.net (pop3). I'd like to continue using POP3. I was also able to have only 1 inbox on my PC (it was located under my "Local Folders") as well as 1 trash, etc. Can I have that again? Thanks again in advance :-)

I have my saved login and password details from another browser in a CSV and would like to import them to Firefox. I initially did not have the 'Import from a File' option in the drop down menu of the Logins and Passwords tab. After following a guide that instructed to set signon.management.page.fileImport.enabled to true in the about:config page, the option appeared. However, the said option is unresponsive to any clicks. The drop down menu simply closes once the option is selected, without any other reaction.

I'm not sure if this is a related problem but I am also unable to use the Import Wizard that appears on performing Alt+F and choosing 'Import From Another Browser...' The Import Wizard window only appears with a message that says "No programs that contain bookmarks, history or password data could be found."

Firefox browser version: 103.0.2 (64-bit) OS: Ubuntu 22.04 (64-bit) Windowing System: Wayland

Funnily enough, the 'Browse..' button for adding images under this support question doesn't work either.

Thunderbird 102.1.2: Saved Search folders display 0 results

I upgraded from Thunderbird 91.12.0 to 102.1.2 one week ago. Windows 10 21H2. I have many Saved Search folders. Since I upgraded when I click on any of them, no results (messages) are listed. If I right-click any of them, and left-click 'Properties', against 'Select folders to search' it now states '0 folders chosen', which is unexpected. I can fix this by manually re-choosing the folders for each one, but this shouldn't be necessary.

I did make a backup of my Thunderbird profile before the upgrade. I tried restoring one of the *.msf files from this backup to see if that would resolve it for the one saved search folder...but no.

Has anyone else come across this problem, and/or know a solution?

Hi,

I'm using Linux and the distrib has inclueded ff 91.12. It has remote debugging in it. I would like to try it but I see I have to install this version of android ff to my device to work.

Where can I found safe/virus free older versions?

I have android-sdk/android studio installed to Linux and works well. Can I download ff android source somewhere or isn't it open source?

Ty

Hi, I desperately need help please regarding Thunderbird Email. I factory reset my computer to get rid of a variety of bugs/slowness etc. I downloaded/printed the support info regarding profiles off the mozilla support site. i followed the instructions and saved my profile. there looked to be two profile file folders. i save them on an external drive. Reset my computer. put thunderbird back on, however the new version of Thunderbird doesnt seem to want to migrate my files back. Im really worried that Ive lost my whole history of emails. I have been with Thunderbird for more than 10 years and saved hundreds of emails in various email folders. Ive tried loading one profile folder, the other, then both and all other variations. ive made new profiles and tried to upload my old profiles and nothing works. I did manage to get a couple of my historical email folders to appear, and some sent items from years ago. But 95% of the stuff i still cant upload. Im not very IT savvy, but i believe ive followed the instructions properly. Is there anything else I can try. are my folders saved in the "server" somewhere that i can access? should i try an use an old version of thunderbird? any advice (in laymans terms) would be appreciated very much :) thanks jackie

I've just upgraded, automatically, to the latest Thunderbird. On opening nothing exists, no address book, no folders or emails, nothing. No idea what's happened as this was an automatic process. I have found a profile folder where it should be but I'm not confident to start trying to change things as I'm happy to find what looks like the data but don't want to do anything that might affect it. Any help? As far as I'm aware my install is 'normal'.

Hello - I've been looking around the Firefox site, and the Internet in general, and so far haven't found out the answer to my question: how do I get Firefox 104 to work on my Linux Mint 18.2 Cinnamon Sonya 32 bit? Specifically what I haven't been able to determine is whether or not I first need to upgrade my Linux, which I suspect. And if so, what's the minimum level of the OS that is required? I may be overlooking the simple answers, but so far I cannot find them. And so far the Firefox website upgrade feature does nothing that I can detect. Thank you for any assistance - Doug.

I have an old hard drive that on which I used Thunderbird for my email. I have located the profile and In the folder called MAIL I have located what I believe to be the file containing the emails I need. I have tried copying the profile over to a new installation of Thunderbird with no luck. I have also tried creating a new local feeds folder and using Import/export NG to attempt to import with no luck. Currently I do not have any email servers associated with the new install of Thunderbird. I am just trying to be able to read the old emails at this point . Can anyone help me solve this problem?

I have included a screen shot of the directory that contains the files I am trying to recover, any help would be appreciated.

I have just installed the latest Thunderbird version. I am trying to create a Thunderbird address book from my previous (8/26/2022) abook.mab into an abook.sqlite file. I believe I have followed the rather straight forward suggestions i.e. rename the current abook.sqlite to abook.sqlite.bak etc and copying the previous abook.mab etc into the new profile, after having shut down Thunderbird. I reopened Thunderbird, but found no address book. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Rolyer

When I minimize the Thunderbird window TB no longer shows up in the array of loaded programs displayed by the Alt-Tab command and the pinned icon in the taskbar looks like the program is not running. On my system, when a program that is pinned to the taskbar is running, the window or tab name is displayed next to the icon.

This began to happen after the update to 102.1.2. To try and troubleshoot this I uninstalled TB and reinstalled TB 91.5.1. Because I had updated to 102.1.2, TB required me to create a new profile. The issue with minimize did not occur with this new profile. I then updated to 102.2.0 and found that the issue also did not occur.

Thinking that maybe the issue was fixed by the re-install, I used the -profilemanager option to reconnect to my main profile. Now the problem DID occur. So the issue looks like it might be an issue with my profile. But I have no idea what that could be.

I have nine email accounts plus the local folders configured in this profile. What is the best way to recreate the profile and migrate all the accounts to a new profile? I'm thinking I'll have to migrate the accounts one by one until I find the account causing the issues.

If there is a better way to fix this, I'm all ears. If the problem is with one email account how to I retrieve the data from the account?

My wife has an older Mac. About a week ago, a pop-up from Firefox told her to update her program. She loaded in the new one and when she tried to open it she got the message that her computer was too old for the update.

We had to reload the most recent update which had been running on her computer.

Now, none of her bookmarks show up and the bookmark toolbar will not display near the top of the screen as it used to.

None of help items online are of any use because what they say will show up on the screen (such as when you enter "about:profiles") is not what shows up on her screen.

Is there any way to recover her bookmarks, passwords and other saved data, please?

TBird 102.2.1 - just updated . . . and discovered that doing so caused several folder modifications I had just completed in the previous version disappeared. Really, really helpful . . . not.

Was in the midst of copying email files/messages to an external drive; 3/4 of the way through, in checking the "finished product" over there on the external, I discovered that -- regardless of what date the email had originally, TBird was changing all of the message dates to today's! That's really, really useful . . . I guess . . . in someone else's reality. My reality is that when I'm backing up email messages I have a reasonable expectation that they will each accurately reflect everything associated with the original(s).

So: How does one tell TBird to leave the original date(s) alone and copy the message(s) intact?

Guess it's now looking as if I will have to start this process all over -- and attempt to not seriously begrudge a program that makes such an unwarranted and unexpected change . . .

Thanks for any helpful information; appreciated.
