Hi, We have two identical Win 10 computers with Thunderbird installed as email client. Up until June both computers worked fine for email account: [edited] @lvlflyer.digitalspacemail8.net. In June, one of the computers wouldn't download messages, and gave the error message in the above Subject. We've clicked on the "Confirm" button hundreds of times, no luck. The account settings for digitalspace are identical on both computers (password, port, security, etc., etc.). I've researched this topic on your forums, and none of the suggestions work. Help.... When trying to send an attachment that is 8.5Mb I keep getting the following time out error. "Sending the message failed The message could not be sent because the connection to the Outgoing sever (SMTP) mail primus.ca timed out. Try again." I've contacted my provider, but have yet to hear back. Is there a setting that can be changed to overcome this issue?

Thank you, Yves Baribeau

After Firefox’s latest update (109.0 - 64-bit) I am experiencing several bugs.

I’ve narrowed it down to two things:

  • Context and dropdown menus do not appear, yet they are present (if I click where they would be the intended behavior happens). This happens for both the menu bar and the toolbar, as well as when doing right click in any website.
  • I cannot move tabs along the tab bar.

No extension is causing this since I have disabled all of them.

Is some else experiencing these or similar issues?

If these are not common problems, does anyone know what could be causing them and how to solve them?

Thanks in advance!

Can you make an option to turn OFF automatic threading? This makes it impossible for me to find past emails by date, which has greatly hindered my personal and professional communications. Or can you tell me how to go back to an older version of Thunderbird which doesn't have auto-threading? Please tell your developers I've LOVED and recommended Thunderbird for years, but will LEAVE if I don't have the ability to sort past emails by date alone.

I tried to log in to my bank and it says "access denied." I may have changed a setting or something on Firefox or my VPN. I'm confused, am not very computer savvy. I went to Apple store last weekend for phone and they said I should use Safari for info security, so I made that default on my Mac Mini (where I'm writing now) for a couple days, but then got blocked from a website where I plan to apply for a job, so I went back to Firefox, after I read articles saying that Firefox is more secure. I am using a VPN, so is that part of the problem ? (shouldn't be, because I have had that for a year or so). I don't know what to do, and it is after 12:45 am now, and I have to go to bed, have to get up for work in 6 hours. I hope someone has some help for me when I log in tomorrow. I hope that I have not been hacked. Thanks for reading!

Support is difficult to use because a search inevitably yields the question, which was answered along the lines of "This option is currently being tested in the Nightly build of Firefox for Android, available from the Google Play store." with that response being dated a year or two earlier, and the thread archived. I find this difficult, as it raises the immediate question, "so what happened when it was tested in the nightly build a year and a half ago?"

Is there a way to deal with this? Is there a different approach? It seems support involves entering a query string, and then browsing all previous queries and responses that contain the specified string. Is this indeed the design of the support system? Is there any effort to improve the support system?

My other PC is fine, I left the site open for 4 hours to check, looks as it should. Please help me understand what could POSSIBLY cause this on just one PC, only in this browser, which I tried uninstall, clear all the data, reinstall to no avail.

My instance is showing signs of a memory leak. I had to shut it down when it had taken over almost all the RAM in my very large Debian 11 workstation. 105 of 128 GB.

Restarting cleared it up, memory usage went back to about 440M.

But I put a tracker on it, and it creeps upward. So I have started bouncing (restarting) it whenever it gets around 800M or more.

Is this fixed in 102.6? That's not in the Debian repo yet but I am sure it will be soon-ish. Debian is slow to change.

This started two days ago and I've been searching the web for solutions, but all I get are outdated solutions that won't wonk on my current Thunderbird version 115.4.2. When I open the Thunderbird window, two smaller windows open asking for me to enter the passwords for the two att.net accounts. I assumed they meant my AT&T passwords but when I entered them they came back as "failed". I then tried the "master" password I put in several years ago (which I have never needed to re-enter) and that didn't work either. I am attaching a photo of what comes up when I open Thunderbird. You can see the two boxes that want me to enter the passwords but I have no idea what to enter. If it wasn't my master password or my AT&T passwords for each account, it must have been something I used when I installed Thunderbird ten years ago that somehow got deleted or lost.

I downloaded another email client to use temporarily until I get my Thunderbird fixed so I can not get my emails, but I hate this new client for a lot of reasons that are irrelevant here. I hate this new client and I need my Thunderbird back. Can anyone give me any idea on how to find the right password or to change the password so it will work again?
