My e-mail inbox shows a high gigabyte use-age rate, but I only have a few messages in there. I get my messages a couple of times per day and delete emails I don't want to keep. Now it will not get all my new messages as it saying I have run out of disk space. It seems that messages I delete don't really get deleted?? even though they go to trash and I clean the trash folder. I have tried compacting but that didn't work. It seems to be only on my win 10 laptop, as my XP computer is working fine. I have plenty of disk space left on the hard drive. Thanks in advance Bob Parkman

Seems after the latest update Thunderbird will not receive some emails. It has stopped receiving emails coming from some cell phones and some .com emails. Some cell phone emails work and others that previously did do not anymore. I do not understand the random situation. No settings have been changed nor is there any setting to correct this. I even reinstalled Thunderbird.

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

I've been using T-Bird for some time now with no problems. Yesterday Xfinity wanted me to change my account password, which I did. This morning I tried to check email and got an error message stating the incoming mail server didn't accept my password - the new one I'm assuming. After several tries I switched it back to the old password which still didn't work. I'm giving T-Bird the Xfinity login password -- is that correct or is there something else that T-Bird is looking for? As a side note -- I just spent 8 days in the hospital and they've got me on a medication that really messes up the higher functions of my brain. I feel as though I'm in a heavy fog and half asleep. Any help would be appreciated... and THANKS~!

I know how to archiving a years worth of messages -- one message at a time, or by selecting a hundred messages at a time IF they are all in the same folder. A painful way to archive dozens of folders full of a years worth of messages.

Why should I be forced to drop into a folder to select the messages? Why not provide a mechanism to archive FOLDER?

I'd really like to select Local Folders (recursive) and hit A to archive -- and be allowed to select Messages older than.

This allows mail to be stored/archived easily by year - and keeps the active Local Folders small and resilient (keeps Thunderbird from being overwhelmed with large folders that seem to bring the app to its knees.

I checked with my website/email host who show no problem. I was able to see new messages I missed there, so the site is working. I checked with my internet provider, Centurylink (DTTH) who says I'm paid up and there are no restrictions on my account, which shows active. Settings hadn't seemed to have changed, but I received 2 domain emails since then, nothing else. I noticed that the program updated right around the time of the problem, but it comes up and acts normally. 'tis a brain scratcher, it is.

Thunderbird email setup settings don't work with office365 server in godaddy email. Their server wants STARTTLS with port 993. When I select STARTTLS in Thunderbird setup, the port changes automatically to port 143. This I can't connect to godaddy's IMAP mail server using Thunderbird email client. Is there a way to make it happen?

I found this description of how to use a thunderbird email template online:

Open the template from the Templates folder whenever you want to use it to send a message. Make any additions or changes to the message, and then click the "Send" button to send it. If you don't want to send the message at once, you can select "Save" from the toolbar, and Thunderbird will save the modified message in the Drafts folder, leaving the template unchanged.

The problem is, that when I open a template (right-clicking to open it in a new window), I can't make any changes at all. I can't even delete the dummy recipient and replace it with the one I want. What is missing here? Thank you.

My Thunderbird email program stopped receiving and sending my emails approximately 2-3 days ago.

My email server is ATT. I have spoken to them today for hours and my Thunderbird email is still not working. They forced me to update my ATT password and my email is working elsewhere (like on Yahoo mail). But its not working on my Thunderbird.

ATT provided me updated information (IMAP and SMTP) info that I changed. But still not working.

I recall this occurring 6 years ago and ATT had me to enter a 12 digit code for my Thunderbird password. It was funky but it worked. It was not my ATT password, but hey, it worked. Now having the same problem.

I'm pretty sure I've messed up this info trying to correct it. No idea how to get it going again. Can you help?

I am trying to get to the "clear cookies and Caches" which should be under Privacy & Security.

When I go to preferences, i can move to Privacy & Security or the other headings, but I cannot scroll down any of the pages under the headings. When I am on the Privacy & Security page the scroll down arrow takes me to Sync heading etc.

How do I fix this? I am having to go to the cookies to clean up as I am having another scroll down issue with an app that is important to me. In that I cannot scroll down a list as the dark side bar flicks on and off immediately.

I am on a MacBook Air.
