I have latest version of Firefox 6, it just hung up and upon restarting computer, NO session restore happened, had 40 tabs open and set to Custom Settings for history to open tabs from last time. Session restore tab not working.

I have had history on Custom Settings and Open tabs from previous session, has been working fine. Today Firefox hung up completely, had to close, would not reopen, restarted computer. Firefox then opened with a series of tabs from about a year ago. Restore Previous Session, Recently Closed Tabs and Recently Closed Windows are all not lit up/non functional. How to restore the previous tabs?
