When using logmein to access my office computer from home, I sometimes must launch Firefox to complete some downloads needed for work. Upon launch, only the top bar is visible, the website is not. Only if Firefox is run in safe mode will it complete the loading of a site. Firefox has no problems launching from work when I am here.

1) Open downloaded https://secure.logmein.com/activex/npRACtrl_ff3.xpi (this is zip-file, im using Winrar)

2) modify install.rdf: 3.6 -> 4.6

3) delete zigbert.rsa in /META-INF folder

4) Save all back

5) Install in Firefox 4

The thing is that firefox 4 uses hardware acceleration to render web pages to increase the performance of firefox. If you run firefox in safe-mode it turns off the hardware acceleration. Also, you can manually turn off the hardware acceleration in the options of firefox.

Log me in is a great tool to remotely control a computer and to increase the performance of Log me in, it ignores all the hardware accelerated parts of the screen. That is why you can't play games or use other 3D/2D hardware accelerated programs.

I'm still looking for a solution of the problem. At the moment I'm using firefox 3 instead of 4 while I'm taking over a computer. If I found a solution, I will post it here.

The issue is down to Firefox 4 using GPU hardware acceleration by default. You can turn off this option by clicking Tools | Options then clicking on the "Advanced" tab, and finally selecting the "General" tab. See screenshot below.
