Can't setup Firefox Sync on a Mac after just setting up on a PC it keeps telling me incorrect Username/password

I own a MacBook Pro 17" using Snowleopard and Firefox 4.0b6 and a PC using Windows 7 using Firefox (Minefield) 4.0b8pre.

I setup sync on the PC and it seems to be up and running, but when I try to setup sync on my mac, it keeps telling me that the username/password is incorrect, so I cannot log into the server to sync anything. Any ideas? Thanks

I believe this is due to a compatibility issue, the 2 betas will be using different versions of Firefox Sync. Firefox 4.0b8pre has the coding for Firefox Sync based on version 1.5, whereas 4.0b6 is using an earlier version of Firefox Sync code.

As a workaround you could temporarily install the Firefox Sync 1.5 add-on in beta 6. You will only need this until beta 7 is released, which will contain the updated Firefox Sync code.
